This is Fake News. Please know that there is NO legislation in Australia preventing you from bringing a #BYOcup or food container for #TrashlessTakeaway. It is the policy of the individual business & their ethos. Find a business that agrees with yr values & see our thread on BYO

FAKE NEWS ALERT
For the record there is NO FOOD SAFETY LEGISLATION in Aus preventing you from BYO’ing your own coffee cup or food container to a business.
It is not unhygienic. It is not illegal. Given our massive waste problem, it is both moral and sensible to do so.

And microplastics - degraded bits of plastic under 5mm - are everywhere… in our waterways, bottled and tap water, salt, seafood, beer, even agriculture via fertilisers. Marine life and aquatic birds are eating it. We’re consuming it. The oceans are riddled with it.

So if that’s not enough to convince you why you should bring your cup and food containers for takeaway, I don’t know what will!
It’s time to take our plastic waste problem seriously, people.
Happy to take questions… please share and retweet to help normalise #BYO

Unfortunately much of it does not or cannot be recycled.
What would Santa say?
