TO BE CLEAR....I am a DC fan FIRST.
That has nothing to do with Snyder. That had nothing to do with James Gunn. It just so happens that WB has always owned the DC IP. I know what I like and what I don't about film, entertainment & DC.
It just so happens Snyder, Nolan and the writers of the first 4 years of the DCEU wrote some incredible stories and brought DC characters to life. They took it seriously.
The studio had other plans and backstabbed all of those fans of that universe and those stories and brought Gunn in to take control of DC.
Gunn is for 15 year olds. He writes like a degenerate and it shows in everything he does. He completely disrespects DC characters.
I will never be HAPPY about that and I don't have to accept it.
I will still cover DC moving forward. That bothers some. TOO BAD!! I don't just stop because I don't like the content. You don't like it then move on.

You can talk all you want about the BvS second weekend drop, but that doesn't change the fact that it still sold more theatrically than all three DCU releases combined, plus crushing home video sales. Snyderverse sells, Gunn's DCU does not, simple as that

The budget isn’t really a point worth defending in regards to CLAYFACE.
Listen, even MORBIUS debuted with $39M. CLAYFACE, which is drawn from one of the biggest IP brands in the world, dropped with $15M less than Sony's horror spinoff.
A lower budget may limit the financial damage, but in no way does it create audience demand. And that's the point. Choosing CLAYFACE as the DCU’s third film was the misstep. Oh, and making 3 out of 4 set in the SUPERMAN universe. Yes, the DC brand is in trouble. What's new?
This does put things into perspective. There is a good chance it MIGHT make a little bit of money bully the end of its run. BUT, the audience is soooooooo small. That isn’t how you make successful franchise. Everyone said the interest was back. It clearly is not.

The saddest thing about CLAYFACE is that it shows the depths to which DC has fallen. Ten years ago, S*icide Squad, a Batman villain-centered film, opened to $133m and went on to a $750m worldwide total. Now, a decade later, DC is struggling to open a Batman villain-centered DC film past $25m, and that 25m is being praised and treated as a monumental victory, instead of the sad truth it is.
The second sad element is that the film has only found an audience by hiding that it's a comic book movie, embracing horror, and courting horror fans, not DC fans. DC is in such bad shape that it can't even open a movie anymore; let that sink in. They had to bring in a ringer audience for this film to not fall on its face.
This result is an example of how a studio can have it all: a popular franchise and IP with hordes of fans who run out opening weekend for anything with the brand on it, but poor leadership and meddling led to a cascade of poor decisions that alienated worldwide audiences from DC.
We may just be in the apocalypse of DC, the end of days, a lone wasteland with only Batman standing to hold the torch for a world long gone.

- I really enjoyed the premises of this movie. My main issue is that it felt like 2 different movie scripts splashed into one. There were things Matt Hagen would do that just didn’t make any sense for me. Sad because the potential was really there. Ontop of it also feeling SUPER out of place in the DCU. Would’ve worked a lot better with Batman involved in the way Batman and Riddler movie worked.

I can’t remember the last time I went to a premier showing for a comic book movie and I was the only one in there. It’s was pretty weird ngl #Clayface
