A good chunk of the #NERevs irrelevancy is the lack of local media exposure. The overall coverage from local news is minimal. The people who run these news/sports departments don’t know or care about soccer and openly admit it. I’ve had these conversations for a decade.

They started the year by forging bedrock principles like togetherness and relentlessness.
Then the free-flowing soccer got sharper. Now, everyone can seamlessly fill any role depending on the moment.
On Sunday, they exploited an opponent’s weakness (space left behind by wingbacks).
Mitrovic should be in the running for Coach of the Year. He brought a culture shift and he’s getting the most out of his players.
The FO picked the right coach and supported him by bringing in the right pieces.

This is what football/soccer was like just 6 years ago:
- 3 substitutions
- Continuous 45-minute half with stoppage time
- Referees actually made decisions and we lived with them
- No Conference League
- The World Cup was 32 teams
- No risk of private equity buying stakes in the World Cup
Innovation disguised as progress is often just a synonym for “this will make us more money.”

Liga de Expansión players continue to unite against Liga MX owners, demanding the return of promotion and relegation.
For a second game this weekend, Liga de Expansión players refused to play the opening minute of their match in protest of the continued suspension of promotion and relegation.
Without promotion, clubs lose ambition, investment slows, and young players lose opportunities to grow.
Mexican football needs promotion and relegation back.
