You know what I think? I think Tim Sweeney is trying to minimise the damage of Epic when Unreal Engine 6 comes out.
Which is why he is going hard against Steam's Ai disclosures.
According to his admission, Unreal Engine 6 is built from the ground up to work alongside generative Ai. Of course he has a very clear vested interest to hide this information from gamers on Steam.
Looks to me like he's protecting his future product.
When major industries seem like their leaders are trolling or becoming hysterical in favor of AI it's for a reason, I think the bubble is close to bursting.

I’ve come to the realization that Tim Sweeney is the Elon Musk of the gaming industry—and no, I don’t mean that as a compliment.
Certain groups of people really love them because they’re both CEOs of very successful tech companies who are heavily endorsing Generative AI, but in reality they’re both chuds trying to cope with the fact that the rest of us who don’t worship them think that they’re massive losers.

This dev stream was genuinely just a waste of time, i was promised numbers, got none and was told meaningful changes to the content i consume is at least a year out if not more.
Great usage of resources! We killed Skull Merchant within the bandwidth of one patch btw! still no one cares! I'm becoming a deadlock main this game doesn't care about me as a player.
Meaningful feedback isn't worth a damn as either reddit holds good changes in gridlock or the bandwidth is making the changes impossible because they need to test if chungus 20000045 has something to say about Skull Merchant being allowed some oxygen.
I harbor no ill-will toward the developers, I just wish my preferred way of playing the game was valid enough of a concern that expedition was a possibility. Sadly that isn't the case, we venture into the unknown in search of brighter horizons.
There is clearly far too many "yes men" in the DBD space near the dev's and I think its taken a significant toll on the quality and love this game showed to all sorts of players and ways of enjoying the game.
I cannot lie I saw this slow creep into the state that we are in and decided early on that it's probably just growing pains, but the amount of double downs and rug pulls on good features shows a much larger issue that i don't see being solved anytime soon if at all.
Also no, i'm not burned out because i have such joy when participating in a more competitive and balanced format, its my favorite thing. But the base game has strayed further and further away from this, which makes the game feel alien compared to what we had around 3 years ago.
Patience has been my go-to but I'm realizing now that patience only digs your grave because of the perception of sentiment being the only leverage we have. But i don't have that energy so I'll just stand aside until any solution whatsoever is proposed and implemented.
