It’s a privilege after nearly 25 years with @SJACymru that in May I take on the role of Deputy Chief Commissioner for Wales with Dafydd. Looking forward to working alongside our #StJohnPeople. I’ve seen first-hand the dedication & passion they bring to the communities we serve.
Really enjoyable day spent with @SJACymru young people @DangerPointLtd. Our Badgers and Cadets from across North, Mid and West Wales learned about safety and first aid in a brilliant setting. Thanks to everyone who made it possible for our young people. A fantastic day all round.

Sixty years on, we remember the 144 people who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.
Today, The King and The Queen, with The Prince of Wales, spent time at the Aberfan Memorial Garden and the Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre to honour their memory.
The Aberfan Memorial Garden stands on the site of Pantglas School, where 109 children and 5 teachers died when the coal tip collapsed onto the village.

This weekend sees 6 #StJohnPeople starting their CERAD course. Good luck for the next 7weeks of learning. I look forward to joining them towards the end of their course. The course will help @SJACymru to continue to improve our patient care & ensure that safety is alway paramount

Yesterday I joined Leaders from across @SJACymru for the Leadership Day @Hafren_Newtown. Really good open discussions from how we improve culture to how we develop and offer opportunities to #StJohnPeople. Also great to look at what leaders do best and call out the successes.
Many thanks to @AngelaOverment1 for planning and facilitating the day. 👏🏻
Thanks to Trish & Gwyn for taking time out to teach @DafyddTrystan MS and Nick Carter MS and their colleagues first aid skills as part of #RestartAHeart Day. These skills can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. Learn #CPR and how to use a #Defibrillator today!
Important message from @CEOStJAC, knowing CPR & how to use a defib saves lives. Did you know women are far less likely to get CPR from a bystander in public. Tomorrow is #RestartAHeartDay. Every minute without CPR & having a defibrillator drops survival by up to 10%. Learn today!
Our CEO Richard Lee was on @BBCRadioWales Breakfast this morning, talking CPR, defibs and why women are less likely to get CPR in public. Listen from 1:42:20 👇

Two @SJACymru activities yesterday evening. First National Eye Hospital Committee at NHQ, lots of good work progressing to raise funds for @StJohnEyeHosp. Details of the Christmas Carol Concert @stjohnscardiff coming soon. Then it was off to join #StJohnPeople for CCFC v Watford.
Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of visiting Abergavenny Division to meet the Gwent County Commissioner, the county's Children and Young People's Manager and Abergavenny's Divisional Manager, and also the chance to meet #StJohnPeople from the division. Thanks for the ☕️
Another successful induction event this morning at @SJACymru National Headquarters. Welcome to all our new #StJohnPeople who are starting their journey with the organisation. Thanks to @CommCandV and the Cardiff & Vale team for ensuring our new recruits have the best experience.
The @SJACymru National Choir at today’s Visitation @StDavidsCath during the rehearsal. If you thought they were good during the rehearsal they were even better for the main event. Congratulations to all the award recipients, the impact you have on your communities is amazing!
Sunday evening saw Wales v Denmark at the Cardiff City Stadium. Thanks to all #StJohnPeople from across @SJACymru who were there many of whom had supported several events last week. We also enjoyed working in collaboration with our @WelshAmbulance colleagues.
It was a pleasure to join 200+ #StJohnPeople @SJACymru & colleagues from England & Austria. Months of planning, hours of logistics to delivering on the day itself. Collaborative working with partners. It’s the organisation’s largest deployment. Top team work by all, thank you!
So it’s @CardiffHalf @SJACymru largest deployment with 200 plus #StJohnPeople. Thank you to our multidisciplinary team for all their support today. After months of planning, we are here! Good luck to the 29,500 runners taking part and the thousands who will cheer them on.
Today was the start of the @CardiffHalf weekend with the @CardiffHalf Juniors, we’ve also been joined by colleagues @johanniter from Austria who we’ve given a warm Croeso to. Also an opportunity to learn First Aid skills in the event village, plus lots of logistics for tomorrow.
Tonight I joined #StJohnPeople for @cymru 🏴🆚 @norwayfootballteam 🇳🇴. A packed ground, and the atmosphere between these two sides in the Welsh capital was amazing. Good to work alongside @WelshAmbulance colleagues. Thanks to all the @sjacymru team. ⚽️ #Diolch
Last night I had the pleasure of attending @SJACymru Griffithstown Division's Badgers Leavers' Concert 2026. Fantastic to see the Badgers’ enthusiasm and how much they enjoy being part of SJAC. Special thanks to Amanda, Divisional Badger Lead, her team & the SJAC National Choir🎶
As a couple of weeks of annual leave comes to an end it’s time to head back shortly to 🏴. Cyprus 🇨🇾 you’ve been warm, welcoming and worldly #Yamas
Yesterday colleagues across the ambulance sector gathered for annual memorial service, a vital time to pause, reflect & honour the memories of those who are no longer with us. Though I couldn't be there in person, my thoughts were with everyone remembering those no longer with us
Thank you Simon our @SJACymru standard bearer & all of our #StJohnPeople joining @TASCharity @AACE_org & colleagues across the UK for the national ambulance memorial event @NatArboretum
