Last week, Rutgers Prep's Sandra O'Neill had the #1 play on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays. 21 years earlier, JSZ's Rich Chrampanis shot the #1 play on ESPN with former KC Chiefs QB Tyler Thigpen and Cincinnati Bengals WR Jerome Simpson making an insane catch at Coastal Carolina.
Call it cosmic, but the day after Sandra's incredible goal, Rich and Jerome crossed paths back in South Carolina.

One other game note. The best meteorologist in the land shot some of CCU football’s most heroic moments. That was the first time @EdPiotrowski and I watched a game without a camera on our shoulders!
I was so honored to be invited to Coastal Carolina to honor the 2006 championship team. The Chants NFL alumni made their mark as pros but the program they built from that watermelon patch is truly remarkable.
Coach David Bennett had a vision of what CCU could be. Seeing it 20 years later was pretty overwhelming in such a good way.

I don’t know if Jersey Sports Zone would have happened if Barry Melrose hadn’t spent more than a minute on ESPN talking about Julian Kislin and Max Halvorsen’s goal. It was a game-changer.

🚨NJSIAA Strips Anthony Knox's 2025 State Title🚨
17 months after St. John Vianney's Anthony Knox won his 4th straight state wrestling title, the NJSIAA Controversies Committee voted 8-0 to revoke Knox's 2025 region and state championship as first reported by NJ.com's Joe Zedalis.
In a court document, the NJSIAA wrote:
"High school athletics is just as much about fostering teamwork, leadership, and resilience as it is about winning titles given that these lessons will extend beyond the sports field into each student's academic and personal life. Athletics teach sportsmanship, cooperation, and respect for others. Knox did not demonstrate these qualities at the tournament on February 22, 2025.
Knox is set to begin his NCAA wrestling career at Rutgers this fall.
