In the spirit of Thanksgiving and given the mass layoffs that occurred over the last couple weeks, I'm gifting Starbucks treats! 1 per person and first come, first serve. Get yours before it runs out! Hope it brightens someone's day! Enjoy and have a great Thanksgiving! 🙏🏾💙

The Starbucks gift card contains a bar code (6212 7664 3875 5587) which may be scanned at Starbucks. There's a caption that reads "Enjoy ONE Starbucks treat on me! First come, first serve! Happy Thanksgiving!"

It's great to see Twitter's accessibility team celebrated, but I wish it wasn't a eulogy. wired.com/story/twitter-layo…
Twitter’s Layoffs Are a Blow to Accessibility

Twitter’s Layoffs Are a Blow to Accessibility

The company recently took major steps to make the platform more inclusive after pressure from disabled users. Then Elon Musk gutted its accessibility team.

The Accessibility team at Twitter was one of the best teams I've ever worked with. Just last month @gerardkcohen and @RichardEKnowles were kind enough to speak at a Google-hosted event. They inspired the whole Android community to build more accessible apps.

On Android, I had @RichardEKnowles. He is an endless resource of positivity and support, always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. There is nothing on Android that he can't do. In fact, look for him being featured in a Google Dev blog coming soon.

We've gotten a lot of feedback about how to improve the image description (or alt text) experience on Twitter. Today, we're launching 2 features to 3% of Twitter across Android, iOS, and Web: the public ALT badge and exposed image descriptions. 🧵 (1 of 6)
Screenshot of a published Tweet with an image of a cup of espresso. The exposed image description appears above the ALT badge and says: A small white mug with a tiny loop handle, with a shot of deep brown espresso and a light brown crema on top. The mug sits on a small white saucer on a medium brown wooden table.
