10 months ago today, I had a heart attack.
I've been writing this note about it for a while, finally felt like sharing it now.
Now everybody knows, and I hope this reminds everybody to take care of yourselves and make health a priority.
Love you guys, thanks for the support.

Some of y’all are so brainwashed by your hate for the MCU that you’re using the death of a beloved actor as an excuse to hate on Doomsday some more and get a hit tweet. Please log off and touch grass.
Something a little more familiar to close out a sad day.
#XMen
About damn time I try this out for the first time. Never had anything against #StarTrek, just was never a franchise I got into.
That’s about to change. RIP, Captain Picard…

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

This isn’t even half of the articles I’ve written on major celebrity deaths in 2026 alone 😭
I know it’s the job, but I’m just hoping and praying for good health and wellness across the entertainment world, for those on-screen, those off-screen, and all my friends who cover it.

This year has been the absolute worst 😭
RIP to one of the GOATs, Sir Patrick Stewart.
Thank you for all of your work, and I cannot WAIT to see your curtain call later this year 💔🙌
So I can officially say I went to high school with a World Series champ.
Well done Brewers, and congrats to @ChristianYelich!
Beyond honored to write up an article for a movie featuring a truly great friend of mine, Jonathan Lipnicki (@JLIPNICKI).
Go check out his new movie Williston when it hits theaters!!!

Just talked some #VisionQuest with some great friends and got inspired to start a rewatch.
Somehow, this show gets better every time.

This year needed to stop months ago, this is horrible 😭
RIP Eric Bauza, one of the great voiceover actors of our time. You were taken way, WAY too soon...

Happy October 24th to all my Middle-earth homies! #LOTR
I didn’t think I WASN’T gonna enjoy #Clayface, but as someone not much into horror movies…holy HELL did I love Clayface 👀
That was a fantastic movie, even if I was cringing and recoiling almost half the time!
Can’t wait to talk more about how much I enjoyed #RayGunn!
I watched Netflix’s new Ray Gunn movie last night.
Brad Bird just has the ambitious, magic touch. It started a bit slow, being carried by some humorous bits and creativity reminiscent of Monsters Inc. with character designs that sometimes felt Nintendo-like in their creativity and unique appearances.
Once the story and extremely rich world are established, the movie is super engaging and creative. Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson do a great job voicing their characters but the true winner of the movie is the fearlessly creative animation and design.
For me, it might not be an instant classic to the tier of Bird’s The Incredibles but I find it to be a compliment that I am even debating such a comparison. There’s a lot of originality here that works really well and reminded me of what I loved in Pixar and Disney animated films from the early 2000s, in some ways. There were a few ideas and elements that could’ve been more fleshed out to fully realize the world Ray Gunn takes us to but even the elements which don’t seem to have fully reached that potential are still great at the degree to which they are delivered.
It’s a very good movie. Lots of fun. One parents can watch with kids over the holidays and enjoy while the kids enjoy it, too. I really dug it.
Have you heard about Ray Gunn yet?
Another busy day at @movieweb with four front page articles!
