Awesome paper by some of my favorite people in the biz. This is a very careful and evenhanded analysis of the effects of combat deployments.
Now in @JPolEcon. Combat deployments increase injuries and combat deaths, but have little effect on suicide, credit, incarceration, or education. Deployments do not explain recent surges in veterans’ noncombat deaths or disability compensation: doi.org/10.1086/729450

🚨Job Alert!!🚨 Steph Cellini and I are hiring a full time Policy Director to co-lead a new initiative focused on bringing rigorous research and analysis to current higher education and workforce problems faced by federal and state policy makers and institution leaders. 1/3
🚨New working paper!🚨with states cutting higher-education budgets, students frequently don’t get into the courses they want. We find that shutouts have large long-run negative effects, particularly for female students.

Such a good group of people in a pretty incredible place! Anyone who fits the bill should seriously consider this job.
We are super off-cycle (due to unexpected departures), but we have two TT lines that just got approved/posted! Each position requires a research focus related to agriculture/natural resources. Hit me up if you have questions! We're planning to move fast.
