I am shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of Sen. Lindsey Graham. Lindsey and I served together in the House; was a friend and political supporter. I’ll remember him for his quick smile, sense of humor, strong patriotism and passionate defense of American interests abroad.
Yesterday, at request of @naihc_national I spoke at Indian Affairs Committee room about #NAHASDA a landmark law that I introduced & was prime sponsor. A huge success, it has created over 100K tribal homes. Sen@lisamurkowski called me the “Grandfather” of the law.
Congratulations to my friend, Kevin Warsh, nominated by the President as Fed chair. I have known Kevin for over 25 yrs and his life has been a model of integrity, financial acumen, civility & vision. Appreciate his counsel when I was in congress. The nation is in good hands.

I am saddened by today’s announcement that former Rep. Jim Leach has died. Jim was a thoughtful, honorable and productive #Congressman and Chair of Banking. He was a colleague & empowered me to write sweeping #housing & #FinancialServices laws. I will forever be grateful.
Today, in the Capitol, I gaveled in the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Contract With America, using the same gavel that was used. Last time that we had 4 straight yrs of balanced budgets. Senators Wicker and Graham spoke as well as frm House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
I had the great pleasure of knowing #BrianMulroney, the frm #Canadian PM. He was part of a group which included #HenryKissinger and Singapore’s #Lee Kuan Yew that I was associated with. Mulroney was smart, charismatic, passionate in his beliefs, easy to like. May he rest in peace
I feel the loss of Frm #Irish Prime Minister #johnbruton a friend and confidant; a successful PM and courageous architect of lasting peace amongst Catholics & Protestants. I hosted him on L.I. & he was enthusiastically received. My sympathy to the great people of Ireland.
Our nation lost a great strategic statesman with the passing of frm Secretary of State #HenryKissinger. He was a great supporter & advisor during my Senate run and was a Hon. Chair during my run for Gov. He met with & advised key world leaders for over 60 yrs. End of an era.

Horrified that 2023 Tony awards presenter for called Gov DeSantis Klan Grand Wizard. Couldn’t be less effective or classy. Worse, many applauded - same people who grumble at parties about debased political discourse. I’m national arts award winner who loves the arts - we have to be better, more appealing.
