I'm honored to be thanked by Sen. Manchin, along with @derektmuller @Nedfoley @jacklgoldsmith and Brad Smith, Michael McConnell, and Bob Bauer, for our work on the Electoral Count Reform Act of 2022.
@CassSunstein
From today's @nytimes @charlie_savage:
"Trump administration has filed a lawsuit pre-emptively challenging the certification of Alaska’s Senate election if the Republican candidate narrowly loses. But election law specialists said the litigation lacked any legitimate legal basis.
“It is one of the weakest election lawsuits I’ve ever seen,” said Richard H. Pildes, a New York University law professor who specializes in election issues. “It should have no realistic chance of success in the courts.”

Look forward to doing this in-person event later today with Prof. Dr. Silvia von Steinsdorff, from Humboldt University in Berlin:

Here's the gratuitous line from the oral argument I'm referring to:
"MR. CLEMENT: I mean, I think it's
hard to watch a lot of embarrassing videos on
247Sports based on my perusal of it. But,
like, you know, I don't know, maybe, like,
watching, you know, Chicago Bears films is
embarrassing in certain parts of the country.
I don't know. Maybe it is embarrassing."
If you think the Bears-Packers rivalry is not one of the great ones in sport, listen to Paul Clement going out of his way to take a dig at the Bears in a Supreme Court argument yesterday. Paul is from Wisconsin and a Packers fan. Not sure how many in the audience picked up on this, but us Bear fans certainly did:

Whether you watch, listen, or read the transcript, consume this interview in some format. @RickPildes is—as always—extraordinarily engaging & illuminating. It made me less worried about the ‘26 midterms in some respects & yet more worried about the future of American democracy
Must watch: @whignewtons interviews @RickPildes on NYT "Interesting times" on what to fear in midterm elections. Great discussion.
