No complaints from me about being politically homeless: Exile is often essential to faith. If your faith is so closely identified with your politics that the two are indistinguishable then your god may well be your politics - a cruel and merciless tyrant if there ever was one.

Memphis is a music city because of BLACK music. Music made by BLACK artists, BLACK musicians, BLACK Memphians. We cannot turn up the music, then choose not to hear. We must ALL raise our voices to declare that BLACK LIVES MATTER. #blacklivesmatter

What is theology? It is faith seeking understanding. It is a life given to increasingly hard questions which make of us humble pilgrims rather than cocky easy answer dispensers. It is trust before the abyss. Faith without questions is superstitious tyranny sliding into fanaticism

"Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it." The 1918 Influenza Epidemic lasted over 10 months and came in three waves. The 2nd wave was worse than the first wave. We must be cautious. The war isn’t won yet.

We are cautiously optimistic that we are slowing the spread. The change in daily ICU admissions was a negative number for the first time (-17). That means there were fewer people in ICU units statewide yesterday than there were on the previous day.
If you love an album, why not own it? Musicians make a lot more money from sales than from streaming; money they desperately need in times like this! And let's be honest, money spent on music is always money well-spent 🥰💿🕺

I need to clarify what I mean by “John is stable”. That is not the same as improving. There is no cure for Covid-19. He needs our prayers and love - as do the thousands of others who are critically ill. Stay at home. Wash your hands. We love you.

My mother is not expendable. Your mother is not expendable. We will not put a dollar figure on human life. We can have a public health strategy that is consistent with an economic one. No one should be talking about social darwinism for the sake of the stock market.

The way people who are from Memphis trash this city when they find out that I am from somewhere else and chose to live here is crazy. Somebody explain it to me. They always seem super concerned for my safety and seem SHOCKED that I chose to be here and like it. Stop this.
