And the NFL wonders why people are questioning its viability. By the way, this is just one of 11 first-quarter flags in this game.

Thank You All For The Messages And Prayers! I Will Get Back To You Each Individually As I Get Stronger. Thank You To All The Tampa General Hospital Staff And Doctors That Put Up With Me Until 4:30am. I Appreciate You All And Thank You For Everything You Did For Me! I Am Focused On My Healing And Recovery Right Now. I Will Be Okay! And Just So You Know For Those Who Were Asking And Wondering, I Don’t Own My Own Facebook Page Anymore. I Apologize For The Reckless Posting Behavior On My Facebook When I Was In The Hospital. It Was Completely Inappropriate!

The greatest Coach is history!
John Wooden shares a mindset that we all need to adopt every day.
"Yesterday is gone. That'll never change. Tomorrow is yet to be."
"How can you affect tomorrow? By today. That's the only possible way."
"I tried to get each player to make each day his masterpiece."
Don't get caught up in the past or worry about the future - make today your masterpiece.
Then he shared advice he gave to certain players:
"You've gotta put the past out. Good or bad, it's past - it'll never change. The only way you can affect the future is what you do today."
You can't change yesterday. You can't control tomorrow. You only have today.
Then he recited a poem by Vivian Larimore that he loved:
"I've shut the door on yesterday, its sorrows and mistakes. I've locked within its gloomy walls past failures and heartaches."
"And now I throw the key away to seek another room and furnish it with hopes and smiles and every springtime bloom."
"I've shut the door on yesterday and thrown the key away. Tomorrow holds no fears for me, for I have found today."
"Today is the day that counts. It's today."
The present moment is the only place where you can truly make a difference.
Don't carry yesterday's failures or worry about the unknown.
Focus on what you can control.

Tom Skerritt is gone at 93.
Viper from Top Gun. Captain Dallas in Alien. Duke in MASH. The dad in A River Runs Through It. An Emmy for Picket Fences.
Before Hollywood, he served in the United States Air Force.
No scandals. No lectures. Just a working man's actor who showed up and made every movie better.
They don't make them like Tom anymore.
Rest easy, Viper.

Ditching conference title games almost erases the meaning of conference titles, and they really do become simply groups with pooled media rights. If that's all they are, why wouldn't Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, etc., eventually go indie or form their own/smaller groups?
In the "second tier" of college sports' caste system, Miami is positioning itself for a conference move while exploring football independence and fighting against a federal bill.
"If we have to go independent," the president says, "I like our chances."
