Young hoopers, basketball doesn’t define you. You are bigger than any sport. You can be a 5’3” NBA player or a 7-foot doctor, your dreams don’t have to fit anyone else’s expectations.
No ranking, write-up, or offer defines your worth. They’re part of the process, but God made you to be perfectly you. Remember that when you look in the mirror.
Use basketball as a vehicle for your dreams. Enjoy the lessons, friendships, and opportunities, but never believe it’s your only path to success.
Give it everything you have, enjoy the journey, and trust that what’s for you is for you.

Highlights throughout my first two preseason JUCO games 14 pts in a loss against Bevill state & 13 pts in a big win against Wallace Selma
One of my wishes this year is to see DJ Wagner have a great year at Maryland. This kid is cut from a different cloth of loyalty and team first mentality. Wishing this kid nothing but the best
28’ PG Dakota Moncus is a MAJOR PROBLEM scoring 39 pts against one of the top teams in AL. They loss by a lot, but at one point they were up by 13 points. Either way, that was some of the best individual basketball I’ve seen in a while. Body control, pace, playing off two, getting to his spots, patience, poise, shotmaking ability etc. He was playing a pro game while everyone else was playing high school ball.
I see 27’ kids committing to mid majors who would have definitely been high major 5-10 years ago. Talent and hard work speaks for itself, but the kids who will win long term will be the kids who were more strategic with recruiting and made moves that weren’t based out of ego. Be smart, do your homework, then do it again, and go where you are NEEDED and can GROW
27’ 6’1 PG/CG @Kaden_cantrell3 is picking up where he left off this summer. This kid is a high level shot-maker and playmaker. Offensively he has a bag that makes him a 3-level scorer. He has a strong frame and his game is growing daily. College coaches tap in @BkbBucks
Had a convo about how frustrating it is to get dominated by a team full of reclasses at a young age and how frustrating it can be with all the hype they get behind it. He said, “I can’t wait to catch them later when we get older.” Me and my guy told him, they won’t even be there later to get them. Stay the course coaches and make sure you let the kids know what really matters. Don’t get caught up in the hype.

4 Star standout forward LJ Williams of Saraland High School has put together a massive summer and has been extremely busy on the recruiting trail over the last few weeks! Schools from across SEC country continue to stop in and check on Williams first Oklahoma assistant Brock Morris, followed by Alabama assistant Josh Pierre, and most recently Auburn’s Coach Mike Burgomaster! Williams has been one of the biggest stock risers of the summer and the attention is only continuing to build! Expect plenty more schools to stop in and see him over the next few days! 💯 ⌛️ 🛜 ⭐️
If parents knew how many times your kid has been brought up about getting recruited for AAU team or even colleges and the conversations stop when they ask about how the parent/parents act, then a lot of you would change. It’s lowkey embarrassing to have to tell a coach NO, when they ask about the parent. As a adult you should be able to control how you act and the perception you give off to everyone
Most college coaches lie when they recruit you. That’s a known fact. But don’t lie to yourself and be delusional while they lying to you. Do your homework on the coaching staff, not just the head coach. Don’t let them sale you on the history of the school. Please don’t make emotional decisions based off what you want to hear, make sure it lines up with what they’ve done before

Different season requires different things. Your child can’t always be the nail and your child always can’t be the hammer. This journey requires balance just like life. When picking a school do you go somewhere that will allow you to thrive or do you go somewhere that will make you work to survive? I think what you want out of the situation matters and the type of kid matters. Either way, you have to have enough self awareness, knowledge and the vision to know what right for that kid at that time.

Being able to play D1 and being an impact player on a D1 level is 2 different things and this goes for every level of sports
I Did a top shooters list in Norh Alabama and people wanted to kill me for leaving them and their kids off. Coaches, parents, etc. I did a top defenders list and nobody cared 😂😂😂😂. This is where we at with basketball people
When I was growing up I was just a good high school player. A lot of people that were just “good high school players” are better than the kids who parents think they are prospects now. It’s like there are no more just “good high school players” anymore. Kids that help teams win, set screens, be the glue guy, be the hustle guy, etc Everybody a D1 scorer and if you don’t agree with what they think you hating on em or against em
