MLB's Arizona Fall League is experimenting with rules that regulate the positioning of outfielders in an effort to increase the number of balls in the gap. Outfielders under these rules are playing closer to the lines than normal, creating much bigger swaths of grass in the alleyways in left-center and right-center field. FanGraphs was first to report the news. BA's Josh Norris and J.J. Cooper have more: buff.ly/Y0w0SHz

A message from players. We give to our communities, love the cities we play for, and are always thinking of the fans. Vladdy is this guy. When I listened to his comments I just heard a frustrated competitor. Kudos to him for making this right. He loves the city that loves him.

Late night BBT... @KPILLAR4, @Ricky_Ro24 and I got together to discuss Vladdy's contract comments: youtu.be/V8KpVlX98Sc

I heard Vlad Jr comments. You do get paid for what you have done up to that point BUT with the exception that that will continue with some natural ups and downs. I didn’t take his comments to mean he doesn’t care and doesn’t want to be better than he was this year. I just don’t think he articulated it very well. I think he battled a lot this year including being banged up, the pressure of living up to the contract, which is nearly impossible but I think with this year behind him, he will learn and be better because of it.

Sleep tight 🙏
