⭐ Girl Scout Troop 191 Earns Their SacRT Transit Patches! 🚍🚆
All aboard! Girl Scout Troop 191 completed all five activities in the SacRT Transit Patch program and celebrated by putting their public transportation knowledge into action!
With 19 Girl Scouts and four troop leaders participating, the group rode light rail from Sunrise Station to 8th & H Street for a museum field trip. Along the way, they learned about the light rail system, explored how public transit works and discovered how SacRT helps connect our community.
A special shout-out to our SacRT fare inspection team member who answered the girls’ questions and made their adventure even more memorable! 💙
Congratulations to Troop 191 on earning your SacRT Transit Patches! We’re proud to help inspire the next generation of transit riders. 🌟

Good news, riders! Blue Line service has resumed along the full line three days earlier than planned!
The bus bridge between City College and Florin stations has ended, and regular train service has resumed.
The disruption was originally scheduled through Saturday, October 17, to accommodate platform construction work at Fruitridge Station.
Thank you for your patience!
Sacramento is the largest city in California without a dedicated local funding source for public transit.
In fact, SacRT receives only one-fifth of a cent from the local sales tax. As a result, SacRT receives far less than what it actually costs to operate the system.

🎉🚆 Transit adventure complete! 🎉
Congratulations to Girl Scout Troop 3159 on completing the SacRT Transit Patch Challenge and earning their SacRT Transit Patches! 🏅
For their final challenge, the troop researched how to travel from their neighborhood to the Folsom Outlets on SacRT light rail. They worked with their school to get RydeFreeRT cards, found the closest light rail station at Sunrise, and hopped aboard the Gold Line to Iron Point Station for an afternoon of shopping. 🛍️🚆
Along the way, the troop learned how to plan a trip, navigate light rail, and experience firsthand how public transportation can connect them to their community, and they're already talking about where they can go on their next adventure on transit! 💚
👏 Congratulations, Troop 3159! We can't wait to see where transit takes you next!

When someone calls 911, every second matters. SacRT’s investments in signal and communications infrastructure help emergency responders navigate traffic and get where they’re needed faster. And fewer cars on the road means less congestion standing between first responders and the people who need them.
