Dessa should ship with Omarchy as its native voice model.
I want to talk to my desktop while I’m building. Ask a question, interrupt, think out loud, keep going.
@jack has me imagining another project. @dhh @ryanrhughes please get there before I do 😅
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

Replying to @jakemintz @Suhail
We need to rebuild the entire digital ecosystem from the ground up.
At least there will be plenty of jobs for a while.
omarchy builder #18: @RidgetopAI
Brian Jones was a Navy electronics tech who taught himself BASIC on a TI 99.
Now he builds every night. His project is Mandrel, a Postgres memory and decision graph for AI agents. It's open source:
github.com/RidgetopAi/mandre…
His reason: "Because I didn't want to build a toy."
Full story and 6 shorts:

What are you building that isn't a toy?
Thanks @NixFred for the conversation today! He's a good guy and wants to help. Smart, no ego and he builds!
submitted 3 PR's to his how.nixfred.com/ based on what I've learned building AI project memory.

Guess what tomorrow is? Time for another installment of Sunday Builders Club! This week we will be diving into “The Power of Focus”. Join @NixFred and I and the rest of us xitter.cf/i/spaces/1vKpPNmLLekKE
👋 What started as a weekly x space around @Omarchy has turned into a full blown community with hundreds of active members. I’d like to introduce you to the @SundayBuildClub. We meet right here on X Spaces every Sunday at 3pm ET and have a group chat to discuss what we’re building, support each other and share inspiration.

The fact that artists are, on the whole, afraid of AI and not excited about it is travesty
If you're an artist and even mildly curious about how you can use AI without it using you, I want to help

Introducing SubQ Snap, the first long-context decision model for real enterprise work.
Snap is the only decision model or LLM where compute per token stays constant as context grows.
• 384K tokens of multimodal context, 12x larger than Jev.
• 61.7 on Decision Index v0.2.1 vs Jev’s 57.9, outperforming on 13 of 16 enterprise benchmarks.
•Processes 100K tokens and returns a decision in under one second.
•$0.05/MM input tokens. Output is free.
Available today to anyone.
The first 10,000 sign-ups get 100M free input tokens.
We’ll likely hit capacity fast and will add users as we add compute. Compute offers welcome 🙂.
Latency will be variable as we tune the platform to this new model and category of users.
Model speeds are 80ms for minimal context, 250ms for 32k, 660ms for 100k, and 2.5 seconds for 384k.

Hey @elonmusk @benjitaylor and everyone building X, would love to bend your ear about community tools.
We’ve built a community of builders and tinkerers who meet in Spaces every Sunday to share what we’re working on and help each other out. X is our common ground, and I’d love to keep it here instead of splintering off into Slack or Discord.
A few things that would make a big difference:
• Threads and breakout rooms in group chats
• An option to enable live text chat within Spaces
• Ability to enter and leave the space and not have it drop out for everyone
• Recurring Spaces with a weekly schedule and standing cohosts
• Grok-powered transcripts, summaries, and notes
• An easy way to feature our group chats and recurring Spaces on our profiles
The people and conversations are already here. Give us better tools to build community around them.
If you have enjoyed the Sunday X spaces that @NixFred and I have been hosting around @omarchy and building, then come hang with us in our new X Group Chat.

There's some senior engineers on here who, in the face of AI changing the very structures this industry is built on, present themselves as Stewards of the Craft of Programming.
Bugs the hell out for me.
They keep alluding to the virtue of doing things by hand, the value of Good Code and of craftsmanship, saying that yes, AI might change some things, but hey it won't ever change the value of something done with proper care, by hand, just like in the olden days of 2024. Most everything that was Good back then is still Good now: deep knowledge of languages and systems, good code, great architecture. You know the sermon.
And, yes, some of that *is* true. At least I think so. But we don't know, because no one truly knows what will be important in the future.
We're going through times of great change and I think the best advice to give to young people and others who want to have a job and provide value is: keep your eyes open, rethink from first principles, derive from what businesses value what you can provide; the digital world is more malleable than ever, you should rethink how you can help shape it.
All this pounding on the Bible of Good Code seems to me to be doing the opposite: it lets people feel comfortable -- what I've valued all my life is still valuable, I can rest easy -- in times when one shouldn't feel comfortable. This is a bumpy, exciting, strange ride. If you lean back you might fall off the waggon.
Let's not delude ourselves and others that we can keep doing what we've been doing. Rethink it all.
And, like I said, it bugs the hell out of me seeing senior engineers (that are secure in their career) talking as if there's nothing *really* to change, because the Fundamentals will still be valued. They might!
But it's the wrong advice to not rethink everything right now.
do not let yourself be reduced to the status of audience at a magic show, uncomprehendingly clapping as machine intelligence creates parcels of astounding knowledge. all of this is for us, to be understood by us, to sate our own curiosities. it's all really happening

Apple says you need a Mac to build iPhone apps.
Today I built one on Omarchy Linux, submitted it to the App Store, installed it on my iPhone over USB, and stopped it at a breakpoint in the debugger.
No Mac anywhere.
It's all open source:
