Now that these rigged maps have spectacularly backfired, can we all get on board with banning partisan gerrymandering now?

I have been an outspoken critic of Schumer's when it has come to legislative strategy but the man knows how to win elections. Let's make him majority leader, rack up seats in 2028, and then encourage him not to run for reelection (to serve until he's 84). Go out on a high note.
Had Democrats lost the House and Senate, y’all would be blaming Jeffries and Schumer, and rightfully so. But if you’re going to blame them for losses, give them credit for the gains. They’ve earned the right to lead the party in congress.

Looking forward to 2032 when our forecast has Talarico as a narrow underdog in Ossoff's re-election year and nobody believes it because "polls always underrate Democrats in Texas."

Truly you are a moron if you think you were elected to further constrain American science. Reactive ignorance is not what your constituents voted for
Top of the Democratic agenda on day 1 needs to be a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of this out of control industry, and a ban on artificial superintelligence.

I implore the incoming Congress to look at the last two years, at the assault on free speech that has been so shameless and transparent so as to draw bipartisan concern, and recognize that: (a) even unsuccessful, performative appeals to censorship helped create an atmosphere in which censorship could be effectuated and must no longer be acceptable; and (b) bipartisan work towards structural reform is more important than ever to strengthen institutional checks and resilience against those who would use the levers of government power for censorship. Lots to come from @TechFreedom on the latter in the near future.

everyone is doing a pronouns/land acknowledgement bit but actually the fucking awesome thing is that a large part of why this sweep happened is we had a lot of really strong candidates that didn't lean into the woke 1.0 nonsense 10,000 years of bill clinton neoliberal abundance

Don’t get complacent. The map still favors Republicans. Move a bill to prohibit partisan gerrymandering nationwide, no funny business, and if Republicans filibuster or Trump vetoes, finish the job.
We have crushed the Republican gerrymander all across the land.

I'm not sure if the numbers are there in the right legislatures, but this could get interesting.
With these results, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact will get triggered, though the Supreme Court ruling will likely suspend it, arguing that it needs Congressional approval.

It’s remarkable that in the House, the cutoff point where p(D House) crosses 50% is between a D+4 and D+5 environment. The Senate—albeit not all elected at once—requires a D+7 environment for a Democratic majority. Don’t let a blue wave distract you from the fact that 2026 and 2028 may be our last chances to avoid long-term Republican rule. A gerrymandering ban, DC/PR statehood, and Supreme Court reform all need to be priorities in 2029.
The final @SplitTicket_/@TheArgumentMag model update, run with today's polls. Senate: 53D-47R (77% 🟦) House: 239D-196R (92% 🟦) The data unambiguously says something. It's just that nobody seems to actually believe it. We'll see if that's warranted. theargumentmag.com/p/split-t…

The right-wing Anakin posting does make a lot of sense as it combines many of the Right’s core preoccupations: getting groomed; killing your wife; working for an insane, octogenarian tyrant; being hated by your children; losing and dying

Democrats should really consider getting on board with self-driving cars, I don't think the alliance with the Teamsters is paying large dividends.
Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien here. Just voted in the State of Florida for the first time, and very proud to have cast a ballot for @SenAshleyMoody. Sen. Moody has been extremely helpful working with the Teamsters to protect workers’ pensions, defend good-paying jobs, and support well-funded union apprenticeship programs. The Teamsters look forward to working with Sen. Moody in her role on the Senate HELP Committee to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act and get this critical legislation signed into law to protect American workers.

Part of why I’m livid is that she’s now fucked over *moderate* Dems. If AES loses, he won’t get blamed: it will be seen as her fault and the fault of moderate Democrats. This helps DSA and will make them more insufferable, no matter what. Just a colossal own-goal.

This is such a weird an incoherent fantasy. I’m curious as to its origins and whether it was concocted as propaganda, or whether it morphed from some other concern, or what.
Talarico wants to open the borders and legalize everyone to gain a permanent majority to end democracy in America

Speaking as a mild-mannered, moderate, liberal Democrat who generally opposes revolutionary change, supports capitalism, etc., I would consider it political malpractice not to enact, and will work to primary Democrats who fail to full-throatedly support, both DC/PR statehood and Supreme Court expansion. If they *don’t* happen my p(doom) for America increases significantly. So, yeah, 80% is good. (Musk’s #2 is just bullshit though.)
