FundByHook, explained: the raise that never ends.
Most projects raise once. The round closes, the team gets a lump sum, and a countdown starts. When the money runs out, the work stops.
FundByHook keeps the pool open. No round to close, no deadline, no target. A team funds its work while it builds, and its backers can read every rule before they buy.
This post walks through how it works, from launch day to the weekly draw. Every number in it is a constant in the contracts.
THE SHORT VERSION
→ A project sells 400 tokens from a pool that never closes.
→ The team earns a fee on each trade, and can draw 1% of the pool's ETH once a week at most.
→ Nobody, not the team and not us, can pull the rest of the liquidity or change a rule.
ONE POOL PER PROJECT
Every project gets a Uniswap v4 pool, run by a hook. The hook owns all the liquidity.
→ 500 tokens, fixed. 400 open in the pool, 100 go to an owner address.
→ The pool opens with 0 ETH, at 0.00741 ETH per token. That is 3.7 ETH for the whole supply.
→ Buyers fill it. The ETH they pay stays in the pool.
→ Every whole token is one NFT piece, drawn onchain. Buy 1 token and a piece appears. Sell it and the piece burns. Send the piece and the token goes with it.
THE CURVE
The price rises as tokens leave the pool. Half the pool sold means 4x the launch price.
→ 100 tokens out: 0.99 ETH in the pool, 0.0132 ETH per token.
→ 200 tokens out: 2.96 ETH in the pool, 0.0296 ETH per token.
→ 300 tokens out: 8.89 ETH in the pool, 0.1185 ETH per token.
HOW THE TEAM GETS PAID
Three flows, all in the code. That is the whole list.
→ 1% of each buy, as a Uniswap v4 pool fee.
→ 10% of the ETH out of each sell.
→ The draw: 1% of the ETH in the pool, at most once every 7 days. Only the team can call it.
A pool with 10 ETH pays a 0.1 ETH draw. If nobody trades for a year and the team draws every week, the pool still holds 59% of its ETH.
THE DRAW, UP CLOSE
A Uniswap v4 position cannot hand out only its ETH. So the hook does it in two moves.
→ It pulls the exact slice of liquidity that holds 1% of the pool's ETH.
→ It sells the tokens that came with that slice straight back into the pool.
Every token stays in the pool. The team gets 1% of the ETH. The price falls by just under 1%.
WHAT NOBODY CAN DO
Not the team. Not us.
→ Add liquidity. Only the hook's own launch mint can.
→ Pull liquidity. The weekly draw is the only way out, capped at 1%.
→ Open a second pool on the hook, at another price or another fee.
→ Change a rate, pause trading or upgrade a contract. There is no owner and no admin.
ETH leaves the pool two ways: someone sells, or the team draws.
LAUNCH DAY
→ One transaction creates the token, its pieces, the hook and the pool, already seeded. Nothing trades before the pool exists, so there is no window to front-run.
→ First 10 blocks, about 2 minutes: only the early-access list can buy. Sells are never gated.
→ Then anyone buys. Through any router, or straight from the hook: send ETH, get tokens, no approval.
LAUNCHING A PROJECT
Any team can launch on fundbyhook.rip/launch. Four steps.
→ Name it: project name, ticker, collection name.
→ Make your 500 pieces: upload your trait layers. Up to 16 layers, 64 files per layer, 24 KB per file. SVG, PNG, WEBP, GIF or JPEG.
→ Choose where the money goes: one team address.
→ Launch. You pay the network fees, nothing else.
WHY YOU CAN BACK A TEAM YOU NEVER MET
→ Same code for everyone. The hook's code is written into the launchpad once. A launch cannot bring its own hook with its own rules.
→ The art lives onchain. The contract draws every piece from the layers the team uploaded. No IPFS, no server, no link to swap.
→ What you see is what ships. Each piece takes one file per layer, drawn by weight from a seed. The site runs the same draw as the contract, so the preview is the collection.
→ No broken launches. The launchpad checks that all 500 pieces can be drawn before it creates the token.
→ Every launch is listed in the launchpad contract: creator, token, hook, art.
On a launchpad project, the 1% buy fee splits: 0.8% to the team, 0.2% to FundByHook. The sell tax and the draws go 100% to the team.
WHERE RISK FITS
→ RISK is project 01, with RiskLAB, its 500 pieces.
→ The 0.2% FundByHook share of every launchpad buy goes to the Risk Labs wallet, the wallet that funds the lab.
→ Our word stands: for every new project Risk Labs ships, part of its supply goes to RiskLAB holders. Projects launched by other teams belong to those teams.
BEFORE YOU BACK A PROJECT
→ No refunds, no end date.
→ The pool can shrink. Sells and draws take ETH out.
→ Selling costs 10% of the ETH out. Count it before you buy.
→ The pool has no liquidity under the launch price. Once its ETH is gone, the last sellers have nothing to sell into.
→ Every rule above is on each project page. Read it first.
→ Nothing here is financial advice.

ELA update: RELAY is now the front page.
ela.rip opens on RELAY. The terminal moves to ela.rip/terminal.
Two weeks ago ela.rip got two ways in: the terminal and RELAY. Today RELAY is the first one you see.
WHAT CHANGES
→ ela.rip opens RELAY: explore pairs, create one, trade it.
→ The terminal has its own address: ela.rip/terminal.
→ A TERMINAL | RELAY switch sits on both. A pair keeps its chain and its address when you cross.
RELAY, THE FRONT PAGE
→ Explore: token cards, search, and filters for All pairs, On the pool, Bonding curve and Stocks.
→ Create: a name, a ticker, one button. The fee split shows up before you sign.
→ Trade: on the bonding curve before migration, on the pool after.
→ On Ethereum and Robinhood Chain.
THE TERMINAL
→ The dense view, unchanged: the pair table, the pair terminal, create, LOOP, builder codes and the docs.
→ New address: ela.rip/terminal.
WHAT STAYS THE SAME
→ Same factories, same pools, same fees. Nothing moves on chain.
→ Traders pay nothing extra on RELAY.
→ A pair keeps its creator, its fees and its builder code, whichever interface opens it.
→ Your links still work: /trade, /create, /loop, /builders, /docs and /relay did not move.
RELAY is a launchpad and a builder code. It is not a token.
BUILD YOURS
RELAY runs on the same builder codes open to everyone. Register a code, launch from your own site, and keep up to 50% of the creator lane on the pairs you bring.
Front page: ela.rip
Terminal: ela.rip/terminal
ELA brings stock pairs to Ethereum, starting with TSLAon.
Following stock-pair support on Robinhood Chain, ELA now supports TSLAon on Ethereum mainnet: @Ondo's tokenized exposure to Tesla.
CREATE A PAIR
Launch a token quoted in TSLAon.
It starts on a bonding curve, with no leverage and no ELA trading fee. Buyers pay in TSLAon and can sell back through the curve, subject to token transfer restrictions. Gas and price impact still apply.
Once the funding target is reached, anyone can trigger migration to a Uniswap v4 pool. The pair’s engine can then build leverage as liquidity and its safeguards allow.
POOL-MANAGED LEVERAGE
You buy and sell in TSLAon. The engine manages the collateral and borrowing, without an individual margin account for each holder.
Each pair has its own engine. It supplies TSLAon to Morpho, borrows USDC and uses it to acquire additional TSLAon.
The current configuration targets approximately 1.71x leverage. Actual leverage varies with market conditions, borrowing costs and rebalancing.
After migration, each trade charges 1% in TSLAon:
• 0.5% for the pair’s creator.
• 0.3% for the protocol.
• 0.2% retained in the pair’s reserves.
BUILT-IN LIMITS
The engine limits the size of leverage operations and checks borrowing rates, oracle freshness and swap pricing before adding exposure.
It can request available USDC liquidity through Morpho’s Public Allocator, within the configured vault limits.
These safeguards constrain execution. They do not eliminate liquidation, liquidity or price-manipulation risks.
CONTINUING THE WORK
ELA remains a core Risk Labs project. We launched $RISK through FundByHook to help fund ongoing development across the lab, including $ELA, as we work toward fully autonomous products.
Longer term, $RISK and its linked RiskLAB NFTs are also intended to reward the people backing our work by sharing a portion of the fees generated by future Risk Labs projects with holders.
We’ll explain the model and distribution mechanics in a dedicated article.

To the $ELA community: development on ELA continues.
FundByHook and $RISK give us a new way to fund the lab and keep building, supporting and promoting our projects: including ELA.
We’ve just taken a snapshot of ELA holders. The 25 largest holders will each receive 1 RISK token, paired with 1 RiskLAB NFT.
25 tokens, 25 pieces, to recognize your support.
Our goal for ELA remains the same as for every Risk Labs project: a fully autonomous DeFi product that can operate without ongoing intervention from the team.
We keep building toward that goal.
Introducing FundByHook. A new way to support projects.
No round to close. No deadline. No fundraising target.
Building doesn’t stop when a funding round ends. We think funding should be able to keep going too.
FundByHook is an incubator where each project gets its own token and a funding pool that stays open. People can back a project as it develops. The team draws from the pool over time to fund its work.
The first fund is $RISK, the official token of FundByHook and Risk Labs, our studio. It comes with RiskLAB:500 generative compositions drawn onchain.

Here is how it works.
FUNDING THAT STAYS OPEN
A conventional raise has a finish line: a date, a target, a round to close. The work that follows rarely fits that calendar.
On FundByHook, each pool runs through a Uniswap v4 hook. The hook controls a single liquidity position. External liquidity providers cannot add to it or pull liquidity out.
You back a project by buying its token. You can sell through the same pool, subject to its available liquidity and the sell tax.
The team receives funding in three ways:
→ 1% on buys, paid to the team
→ 10% of the ETH paid out by sells, paid to the team
→ A manual draw of 1% of the pool’s current ETH reserve, available at most once every seven days
The draw does not accumulate. Waiting three weeks does not unlock three withdrawals. The team must trigger it, and each draw starts a new seven-day wait.
Tokens remain in the pool. ETH leaves to fund the work. Each draw lowers the pool price slightly.
After launch, the fund contracts have no admin setters, pause or upgrade functions. Only the team can trigger the draw. The funding rules stay fixed.
Contracts by @tzv and @RISKFDN.
FUND 1: $RISK
$RISK has a fixed supply of 500 tokens.
400 seed the pool. It starts with no ETH: buyers bring it in. Buys move the price up; sells move it down.
The remaining 100 $RISK are allocated to Risk Labs to reward people who help move our projects forward. The first 5 go out this week to people who helped move ELA forward.
Those 100 tokens are not locked by code. We are responsible for how they are used.
$RISK also has a visual form. RiskLAB is a collection of 500 generative compositions built from frames, cells and nodes. Both the images and their metadata are generated onchain.
ONE TOKEN. ONE PIECE.
With NFT mirroring enabled, each whole $RISK in your wallet corresponds to one RiskLAB piece, an ERC-721.
12.93 $RISK = 12 pieces + a 0.93-token fraction.
Transfer a piece and one whole $RISK moves with it. Sell 1 $RISK from that balance and you are left with 11 pieces and 0.93 $RISK. One piece is burned; its ID can later be reissued.
Your tokens and pieces are two representations of the same holding. NFT mirroring is enabled by default for ordinary wallets, and holders can change their own setting.
THE PLATFORM TOKEN
$RISK is the official token of FundByHook. Each fund launched on the platform will have its own token; $RISK remains the token of the platform and Risk Labs.
It is also how we want holders to participate in what Risk Labs builds next.
Our commitment: every future Risk Labs project will share a portion of its fees with $RISK holders.
That commitment comes from the lab. It is not enforced by the $RISK contracts. The percentage, timing, eligibility and distribution mechanism are still to be defined. There is no fee-sharing mechanism live in these contracts today.
On $RISK itself, all buy fees, sell taxes and team draws go to the team.
THE DOOR
For the first 10 blocks after the pool is seeded, buying is restricted to enlisted wallets.
There is a door hidden in a site that was live long before the contract.
That is all we will say.
WHAT COMES NEXT
$RISK is Fund 1. The next funds will come from ideas worth building, whether they come from Risk Labs or anyone else. Eventually, anyone will be able to launch a fund on FundByHook.
Today, only the lab can launch. Permissionless launches are not live yet.
For the lab, two rules apply:
01 / Each project must run autonomously before we start the next.
02 / Nothing launches without a good idea.
$RISK remains the platform and studio token as those projects take shape.
That is the experiment:
Can funding stay open as long as the building does?
Risk Labs starts with $RISK. What we build next has to earn your continued support.

This kind of crowdfunding could revolutionize how builders get funded. Originally inspired by @token_works work, we've shaped it into a more open model that still puts builders first as they develop their projects.

RISK is the Risk Labs token. We launched it through FundByHook, a new experiment, a funding model built by @tzv so teams can fund their projects through a pool that stays open.
For us, the point is to give Risk Labs more resources to keep building. That includes $ELA. We want to spend more time developing it, getting it in front of more people, and supporting the community that’s been helping it grow.
We also want RISK holders to benefit from what the lab builds next. A portion of the fees from future Risk Labs projects will be shared with them. We haven’t finalized the terms or how distribution will work yet, so I want to be clear: this is a commitment from us, not something the contracts do automatically.
We’ve set aside 100 RISK, or 20% of the supply, for people who contribute to our projects, past and future.
The first distribution starts this week with people who’ve been helping spread the word about ELA.
That’s the idea: give us more room to build, and give something back to the people helping us along the way.
A new ELA update is planned this week.

ELA major update: BUILDER CODES and RELAY.
A step toward a fully permissionless launchpad: anyone can now build their own front on ELA.
ELA is fixed-leverage tokens anyone can launch, on Ethereum and Robinhood Chain.
Now anyone can also build a launchpad on ELA.
BUILDER CODES
→ Register a code once.
→ Pairs launched through your code share part of the creator lane with you.
→ Traders pay nothing extra.
→ On Ethereum, the protocol lane keeps feeding the ELA burner.
→ The Builder fees tab shows your code's terms and your pot per asset, with a Withdraw button.
RELAY is the first official builder code, and the front built around it.
→ Explore: token cards, search, and filters for All pairs, On the pool, Bonding curve and Stocks. Tokens launched through the code are tagged "via RELAY".
→ Create: a name, a ticker, one button. The token address, its icon and the fee split (creator, RELAY builder, retention, protocol) show up before you sign.
→ Build yours: register your own code.
TWO INTERFACES, SAME MARKETS
ela.rip now has two ways in: ELA, the terminal, and RELAY, the explorer. Pick one on your first visit and switch anytime.
WHAT STAYS THE SAME
Existing tokens keep their creator and their fees. RELAY only takes a share on tokens created through its code, and shows that share before you sign.

Flywheel.
RiskLabs has just completed its second flywheel operation, burning 175 ELA.

ELA: the flywheel update.
Starting now, the protocol lane of every pair fee has one use: buying ELA on its own pool and burning it. One contract on Ethereum, no owner, no setting, no way out but the burn.
Anyone can call drop(): 10 to 40% of the pot, never more than 0.5% of the pair's ETH reserve, burned in the same transaction, the next drop 50 to 300 blocks later. The size is capped, not secret.
Every network ELA supports from here on ships with the burner built in.
The pot fills as pairs trade. Watch it on ela.rip.
