6 years ago, I had the chance to publish a paper that would end up changing my academic life It was a review article exploring the surprising activity of certain ADCs in “HER2-low” breast cancer, a newly emerging entity whose relevance was still uncertain. We tried to connect the dots, asking if HER2-low was a subtype vs just a target, wondering whether this concept could one day translate into meaningful benefits for patients. 6 years later, that article has reached 1,000 citations. My career has gifted me more than I could ever have imagined. More importantly, what was once an intriguing scientific observation has become a clinical reality: countless patients with HER2-low breast cancer now live longer thanks to T-DXd. A reminder of how far science can take us in just a few years. Grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey! ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JCO…

⭐️Really loving the wording in the daraxonrasib FDA approval. Clear autonomy for physicians, centered on patient needs. 👉🏼“The approval is for the treatment of adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who have received at least one prior systemic therapy or are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy” 👉🏼This is how oncology should move forward @OncoAlert @matthewherper @oncodaily @OpenEvidence @FDA @FDAOncology @FDAMedia @DrSamuelBHume
🚨🚨🚨⭐️HUGE news & a MAJOR milestone in oncology‼️ 👉🏼The FDA just approved the first targeted therapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer a breakthrough in precision oncology and a landmark step in making the BIG KRAS officially druggable ( beyond KRAS K12C) ❗️ $RVMD 👉🏼A new era in the fields battle against a devastating Emperor of all maladies. #precisionmedicine #KRAS @OncoAlert @oncodaily @DavidHongMD @Aiims1742 @DrShubhamPant @GIcancerDoc @EileenMOReilly fda.gov/news-events/press-an…

🚨 FDA APPROVAL | First-in-class RAS inhibitor in metastatic pancreatic cancer The FDA has approved Rasonque (daraxonrasib), an oral once-daily RAS inhibitor, for adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who have received ≥1 prior systemic therapy or are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy. 📊 Randomized trial | N=500 • Median OS: 13.2 months • Standard chemotherapy: 6.7 months ➡️ Nearly doubling median overall survival in previously treated metastatic disease. ⚠️ Common adverse events included rash, diarrhea, stomatitis, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, abdominal pain, edema, decreased appetite and hemorrhage. 💡 Why it matters: RAS has long been one of the hardest oncogenic drivers to target. This approval introduces a new targeted treatment strategy into one of oncology’s highest-unmet-need diseases. Verdict: 🔥 Practice Changing @FDAOncology @OncoAlert #PancreaticCancer #Oncology #RAS #FDA

Saindo do forno!
