Undead Dragon.
Here's an illustration I created for this year's IX Torneo Premodern Extremadura, depicting San Jorge, patron saint of Cáceres, facing the dragon in the heart of the city's historic old town.
I'll have my own stand at the event, so don't hesitate to stop by and say hello!
Nos vemos en Cáceres!
I'm a fan of Steve.......

FRIDAY CONTRAILS: The sky is full of long-lasting contrails this morning — and the 7 AM weather balloon from the NWS in Calera shows exactly why.
A contrail is a condensation trail: jet exhaust full of water vapor, frozen instantly into a ribbon of ice crystals by air 35 to 60 degrees below zero. Dry air up there, and the trail vanishes in a minute. Saturated air, and the crystals can't evaporate — the trail lasts for hours, spreads out, and becomes high clouds.
On this morning's Birmingham sounding, the middle levels are dry — but at jet flight levels the temperature and dewpoint lines sit right on top of each other: saturated air, seven miles up, ahead of our weekend showers. Every jet today is writing on a sky that can't erase it. The crisscrosses are just crossing air routes.
Nothing is being “sprayed” — just water vapor, bitter cold, and a saturated sky. Same physics as your breath on a cold morning.
Ok, my last retweet/post about this amazing man's passing. Thought this would be a nice one to be my last share on an actor that made peeps happy! I enjoyed him in other movies and such but so many more got to know his work beginning with the Star Trek universe...🙏💪
.@TerryMatalas, this hits like a sledgehammer today. I teared up.

Patrick Stewart in the final scene on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
It’s extremely simple, but reveals so much of his character if you watched. Somehow his sense of duty and sensitivity, along with the admiration of his crew shines through.
RIP Captain.

RIP Patrick Stewart. What an actor. I still can’t believe he agreed to do this scene. And he didn’t even mind when I ruined every take. Legend.

Kevin Feige pays tribute to Sir Patrick Stewart:
“I’ll never forget the first time I saw Sir Patrick Stewart on the set of the first X-Men. After years of knowing him as the inimitable Captain Picard, I was in awe — and he turned out to be everything I had seen on screen and more: brilliant, charming, warm, generous, with a quiet strength and gravitas.
Away from the cameras, he was even more remarkable, with a wonderfully sharp sense of humor. It was a true privilege to know him and to work with him. His legacy lives on not only in decades of extraordinary work, but in the many, many people he mentored. He will be deeply missed.”

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

I am saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart.
Like so many, I came of age watching him as a father figure on screens big and small. There was no crisis too big for his stalwart characters to navigate, with wisdom and warmth.
Thank you. We are grateful.
