A pastor in West Virginia was sentenced to 5-to-25 years in prison for child sex crimes, so he'll be eligible for parole in 2031.
Elbert Goins, 42, arranged to pay $100 for 30 minutes with a minor child for sexual assault.
He was messaging undercover investigators in a sting operation. They set up an online post pretending to be a single mother offering her young children. Goins initiated communication and believed that he was arranging sexual encounters with her 11-year-old child.
Goins was the lead pastor of Mount Hope Christian Church. As a lead pastor, he occupied a position of immense authority, moral standing, and vulnerability within his community.
This is very unsettling. A potential 5-year prison term is lenient for a pastor who attempted to purchase an 11-year-old child for sexual assault.

There’s NO CONNECTION between using credit cards and voting! Many registered active voters had to fill out PROVISIONAL BALLOTS!
