Knowing that Fmr. CJ Phillips was a member of St. Paul's UMC in Houston, I'm not surprised.
St. Paul's has a history of pragmatic leaders in the pews of both parties- the exact kind of person that says "Talarico will do Texas proud."
Former Chief Justice Phillips, a Republican mainstay on the state Supreme Court, will vote for Talarico. #txsen beaumontenterprise.com/opini…
So, @TeamBettencourt has blocked me
He:
- has no personal page
- mentions his job
- talks about his job as my state senator
This acts as his official page and pols can't block constituents.
How did I find out he had? Simple- I actually was trying to agree with him on something.
Real question for @SFA_Football fans.
Are y'all ready for phone calls to get Coach Carthel the raise it'd take to keep him from answering calls from Baylor?
Getting him to not answer calls from Sam Houston is easy- Baylor offering $3M and a P4 job is tougher.
Just saw that "I can't show my face because I'm White" commercial from America Next.
America Next is run by.... Indian-American @BobbyJindal.
Ya can't make this stuff up.
The worst part of conference realignment:
1) The insane travel for Olympic sports
2) Having to think "Wait, this is a conference game?" about a matchup that doesn't feel like it should be (ex: Wisconsin v. Southern Cal)
I've seen school administrators get complaints for captioning their Early Voting posts on social media, "Public education is always on the ballot."
Sad that "I support public education" (for a public school employee) is considered a partisan statement.
Let's update the notes:
- 3 more wins for a new school record
- 4 more wins for the 1st 10-win season AND the conference title since the Johnson Administration
... and the list goes on.
First things first- doing something NO ONE has done yet by winning as a visitor in Edinburg.

This is going to lead train lot of empowerment. Count on other teams' squads doing the same thing.

Sponsorship deals directly with them and negotiated into new deals for team sponsors.

Polling place campaigner (for the GOP: Do you have any questions?
Me: Not for the pedophile protector party.
Them: I don't know what that means.
Ignorant? ... or just playing dumb?
As a reminder: You don't need a parachute to go skydiving; the parachute is needed to tell people you WENT parachuting.
First Dolly... now Tom.

Note: The people disputing this are saying "They're all government jobs!"
There are ~3.9M government employees- so less than the top 7 people... ~1.3M of those employees are active-duty military (so about 2.6M civilian employees... including postal workers).
For those wondering why Dems are saying versions of "run up the score in the big counties"... in the "Big 5 counties" (Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Bexar, and Travis)- KH won by 460K votes, lost Texas by >1.5M.
Turnout has been heavier than usual among Dems, but nothing's certain.
