Today marks 7 years since my stem cell transplant.
I still remember Dr. Thomas Kiss telling me, on this day in 2019, at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, “Welcome to your second birthday, because today we are giving you a second life.”
A special thought goes to Jonathan Kehl, the young German man whose stem cell donation gave me this second life.
I was at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC today for my monthly immunoglobulin appointment and had a chance to thank nurse Chantal Ferrari as well as the other doctors and nurses that were part of my journey.
Seven years later, I am still as grateful as ever.

Albertans are now covered for the Omnipod 5, the first tubeless insulin pump system available in the province.
This innovative technology uses real-time data from a continuous glucose monitor to automatically adjust insulin delivery and help keep glucose levels within a target range.
By expanding coverage, Alberta is providing people living with diabetes access to life-changing technology that simplifies daily care and supports better health outcomes.

Health care is more than a public service. It is a competitive advantage for our province, and we are committed to building a system that supports long-term health and prosperity.

We’re investing $2 million, matched by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, to plan an expanded inpatient tower and a new research centre.
The Alberta Children’s Hospital expansion will add 40 acute care beds, 10 mental health beds, and a Centre for Research & Innovative Care.
Once complete, the project will expand capacity and help keep Alberta at the forefront of medical research.

Albertans deserve to see, in plain language and real numbers, how their health system is actually performing.
That’s why we are launching a new Health System Dashboard: an online tool that gives Albertans clear, up to date information on wait times, outcomes and access to care in their own communities. It will show where we are delivering results and where we need to do better, so there is real accountability and transparency.
We are starting with surgical information, including comparisons across facilities provincewide. Step by step, Albertans will be able to see the full picture of how their health system is working for patients.

Alberta’s government is committed to being open and transparent about how the health system is performing.
That’s why we’ve created a new online health system dashboard to give Albertans clear, easy-to-understand information about how care is delivered and how the system is performing.
Initially, the dashboard will include surgical data, and over time it will expand to include acute care, primary care, assisted living, mental health, and addiction data.

Mitch McConnell just said the quiet part out loud on Greenland:
We already have everything we need.
Greenland already cooperates.
Our Arctic access already exists.
What Trump is proposing isn’t strategy, it’s burning allied trust for nothing.
“Incinerating the hard-won trust of loyal allies” is not strength. It’s self-sabotage.
