If you were as surprised at Kevin Rooney's omission from the Tyson documentary as I was, then this is a must-watch interview.
As fascinating as it was, the overall feeling I was left with was one of sadness. The Tyson story simply cannot be told without Kevin Rooney Sr in it...

Don’t forget Barry’s pivot segment- he must have been in awe of Shocks pivoting off the ropes!
Looking forward to having Barry back on The @BoxingShowPod today so I can hear all about how many fishbowls he drank in Crete and who he thinks the front-runner for the Ballon D'or is.

Johnny Chan’s trap at the 1988 World Series is still one of the coldest hands ever played.
Chan flops a straight and just calls. Erik Seidel walks right into it, shoves the river, and Chan snap calls for back-to-back world titles.
The footage was later used in the movie Rounders, where Matt Damon’s character rewatches it over and over to study how Chan plays.

I remember seeing Tyson at Kronk Gym on Warren Avenue in Detroit after my fight with Khan. He clearly stood out, so I asked who he was. He was a class act and showed tremendous potential after just a few days of training with Emanuel.

I remember seeing Andy train at the gym in Detroit with Emanuel and SugarHill. They shared a special bond! Andy was a class act in the gym and is now one of the best trainers in the sport.
I spoke to Andy Lee about his final days with the late, great Emanuel Steward before Steward’s passing in 2012.
Probably my favourite interview segment ever.
RIP Emanuel 🌹
