Anyone know what those explosions are in #Leeds? Sounds like a munitions dump exploding. It’s been going on for 5 mins now. Too foggy to see if it’s fireworks, but my flat off Briggate was shaking with some of the explosions 😳

Big news from the UK: Since 2015 onshore wind in the UK was effectively banned. This is about to change with the rules to be relaxed. bbc.com/news/uk-politics-638…

So it turns out, if you google 'largest source of CO2 emissions UK' Google gives you the wrong answer (courtesy of @WWF) It was once true, but is no longer the case... 🧵

But it's been wrong for a while now. Transport had already over-taken power as the UK's leading source of emissions by 2015 - so this info that's ranking top on Google has been wrong for 7 years!

Why does it matter? Well 'energy generation' is something we're distant from, we can't readily effect the % of the grid that's renewables ourselves. But transport is something we can affect in our own lives - choosing the bike over the car, or the train over a plane.
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.
