This behavior is obviously wildly +EV for other players and welcomed by a large segment of them. This behavior is also a turn off for a meaningful segment of the player base. Both of those things are true and both are in conflict with each other.

Super annoying way to go out on 72nd place with JJ < AJ in @WSOP Event #62 $2500 NLH but always a fun time playing with @martinkabrhell who btw makes tournament poker far more enjoyable than most players I play with because he’s NOT boring. On to the freezeout!

~85% of poker players are losing players that would be described as recs, amateurs, or worse. If we lose them, they'd be no games. The game should 1000% be catered to them rather than the 5% of grinders/shitregs that want every single edge they can get their hands on.

Why “fix” poker? The best part of poker is how imperfect it is. It’s oddly comforting sitting w imperfect people often making imperfect decisions…born of tilt, ego, impulse, intuition. No one’s at the table to become a better member of society. There’s another room for that.
