🧵: Part 1 of some of my favorite play-designs/play-calls from Sean Payton and the offensive staff this season. 01 personnel buck sweep to the boundary with Marvin Mims. The personnel grouping gets lighter bodies on the field and calling it to the boundary gets a puller onto a DB in space.

Saw it the other day with the Mrs and it was so good imo. The best out of the big 3 Cregger bodies of work and he did an insane job at making it feel like the games. Austin Abrams fucking killed it too. People upset about the ending are dumb.

Everybody likes to regurgitate the same talking points when it comes to Payton and his “ego” or the fact he “doesn’t take accountability” but I’m sure this won’t be mentioned! Wasn’t even asked about the question but still made the point to vocally blame himself.

That Bo Nix run reminded of something I was thinking about before this game: We’ve basically all forgotten that Mahomes came back from that knee injury in 9 months. After game 2 it felt like that story was gone. We’ve heard about Nix’s ankle, Maye’s shoulder, other carry over injuries. But Pat is basically not talked about as either still getting over an injury or or as someone with any signs of decline with how quickly he’s returned and how great he’s looked. Pretty incredible

Much better day from Nix and the offense in general. 3 plays of 40+ somehow, but most of all especially in the second half they were able to sustain drives. Run game looked better outside of the Nix run and they were able to consistently grind out early down yardage (Coleman is as good as I thought and needs starter carries)
