🚨 Brazil's right wing revolution has begun... Thousands upon thousands of people took to the streets in Rio de Janeiro in support of Flavio Bolsonaro as he attempts to take down Lula and declare war on the gangs of Brazil. Under Lula a Supreme Court judge put former president Jair Bolsonaro in prison and then house arrest for the next 20+ years. His son Flavio is running to free his father and free Brazil from Lula’s communist-like government. Brazil's right wing movement is being led by the Bolsonaros, 30 year old Nikolas Ferreira, and 28 year old Lucas Pavanato. Something incredible is taking place as millions reject the ideas of socialism and communism. VAMOS BRAZIL! 🇧🇷

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

The region tries to assume its responsibilities. Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan - the signatories to Mecca joint defence pact - travel to Tehran in a bid to avert Iran sliding back into a disastrous third war against US and Israel. The discussion point will be a regional security pact that includes Iran, a long standing Iranian proposal, but of which many versions exist.
HRH Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Minister of Defense, leads the Kingdom’s delegation to the meetings that will be held today in Tehran, capital of Iran, between Makkah Joint Defense Agreement countries and officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran, with participation of Field Marshall Asim Munir, Pakistani Chief of Army Staff and Ibrahim Kalin, Director of the Turkish National Intelligence. Representatives of Makkah Joint Defense Agreement countries will meet with the H.E. President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, and H.E. the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Mohsen Rezaei. The visit comes as part of the continued efforts by the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement countries for de-escalation between parties involved in the ongoing crisis, and promoting dialogue and diplomatic solutions, in support of the mediation efforts carried out by the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The visit underscore the pivotal role of Makkah Joint Defense Agreement countries in reinforcing regional security and stability, and working with all countries in the region to achieve that goal.

New: Sources from three countries confirm that the Trump Administration has advocated Viktor Orbán for UN Secretary-General. The US has encouraged Orbán to enter the race, even bringing him the initial idea of a joint U.S.-Russia-China candidacy. WSJ: wsj.com/opinion/viktor-orban…

Yisrael Beytenu, chairman Avigdor Liberman, called on Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara to open a criminal investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on suspicion of treason, according to a statement released on Monday and reported in Israeli media. Liberman's appeal does not establish criminal wrongdoing or mean an investigation has opened. The demand follows a report by N12 on Sunday that Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir had clashed over a proposed military operation that could trigger a confrontation with Iran, just two days before Israel's October 27 election. Liberman accused Netanyahu of attempting to draw Israel into a military confrontation to prevent the elections from taking place. In a statement published on X on Sunday, Liberman said he believed Netanyahu was attempting to force Israel into military action to prevent the vote, describing the alleged conduct as a betrayal of the state and its security. He further argued that the chief of staff had a responsibility to prevent the military from being used for political purposes and to protect soldiers from unnecessary risks. Speaking at a campaign rally shortly before Channel 12’s report aired, Opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot had told supporters that Netanyahu would go to any lengths to retain power. “I see the polls, I know the data, and I know Netanyahu,” Eisenkot said. “He’ll stop at nothing — no lie, no extreme measure — to stay in power.”

The President said today that Michigan's Democrat Senate candidate is an Islamist terrorist who shouldn’t be allowed to take his seat if he wins the election. The President then said that Jewish Americans deserve to be shamed if they choose to vote for the Muslim American candidate. The Republican Senate candidate running in Michigan refuses to condemn these statements. He claims his opponent has ties to terrorist organizations. Abdul may not be your cup of tea, you still may have entirely understandable reservations about your choice. Not here to judge. I'll just say I really think it will matter if Michiganders reject politicians who spew that kind of hateful garbage about one of their own. The stakes are real here.

Historic comeback in Brazil! And perhaps, more importantly, the emergence of a new playbook for beating the far right: Challenge social media algorithms in the courts, reclaim the flag, call out extractivist fascism and fill the streets and the networks. Brazil, you beauty!

This is why they’ve kept Cindy Hyde-Smith in a witness protection program. This Senator hasn’t had a single town hall in 6 years and literally runs away from reporters who ask real questions. She can run but can’t hide on Election Day. @scott_colom is coming for this seat
Oh boy, on the eve of Trump’s visit to Mississippi, Cindy Hyde-Smith *doubles down* on her other “proteins to choose from” comment. “Thank goodness when mothers want to feed their families when you go out shopping, there are proteins, you want to feed meat, there are some cheaper prices. And that’s what that statement was about.” #mssen

The Bernie team tried to get this into the Democratic platform in 2016, the Clinton team blocked it. We tried again in 2020, the Biden team blocked it. Glad folks are coming around but it’s absurd that it’s taken this long on what should be a noncontroversial point of fact.
One of many critical points in Jon Finer's excellent post-elections Israel policy agenda for Democrats: "A new approach should also start from the principle that U.S. policy will distinguish occupied territory and Israel proper." nytimes.com/2026/10/23/opini…

It’ll be fascinating to see how Bolsonarismo reacts to Flávio’s defeat today. The Bolsonaro family has been hegemonic on Brazil’s right since 2018, yet a growing number of voices will point out that a more moderate candidate with a different last name could have beaten Lula.
