We know how much it matters to live in a country where our rights are protected, where the law applies equally to everyone, and where the majority can’t just decide that some people don’t deserve the same freedoms. The safety and freedom we’ve found in America didn’t happen by accident. They exist because of democracy. And protecting democracy means protecting Jewish safety, too.
We know what happens when those protections start to break down. When courts are weakened, elections are undermined, and people lose equal protection under the law, minorities are often the first to pay the price. Jews have seen this throughout our history. It’s one of the reasons so many of our families sought refuge in democratic countries.
That’s why I find it so alarming to see what’s happening right now. When masked government agents are taking people off the streets and citizens are being shot in public, we should all be worried about where things are headed. As Jews, we know that when a government starts targeting certain groups of people, no one should assume they’re safe from what comes next.
Mike Rogers has chosen to align himself with a movement that is willing to attack our democracy. He stood with Trump and refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. And now we’re seeing what happens when a political movement treats the rights and dignity of certain people as disposable. For Jews, these things should set off alarm bells.
Jewish safety is tied to the health of our democracy. We can’t protect one without protecting the other. And in this Senate race, Abdul is the candidate who understands that and is willing to fight for it.

BREAKING: Israel orders a “full lockdown” of the occupied West Bank after its military kills two Palestinians accused of launching an attack that injured five people near the city of Hebron. nbcnews.com/world/middle-eas…

The post inaccurately states the attack injured five people; two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others injured when Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a military checkpoint near Hebron.

The IDF detained Brad Lander and several other Americans this morning for assisting Palestinian farmers in harvesting olives — a shameful action by the Israeli government that I wholeheartedly condemn. The remaining detainees must be immediately released.
The Israeli government’s actions in the West Bank have increasingly violated international law, while its continued expansion of illegal settlements and failure to stop settler violence have led to the needless loss of life and undermined prospects for lasting peace. The Israeli government must put an end to settlement expansion, hold violent settlers accountable, and respect the rights and dignity of Palestinians living in both the West Bank and Gaza.
The Israeli government must understand that their actions have consequences — and US political leaders must be willing to do more to reinforce that.
Today, while protecting Palestinians, Brad Lander & a group of American rabbis & others were taken by the IDF. Releasing Brad isn't enough, the Israeli govt must release them all.
If this is how they treat Americans, imagine how they treat Palestinians. Trump & Rubio's silence fuels this impunity.
In the deepening chaos in the West Bank, the IDF detained several dozen American rabbis and volunteers, including my future Democratic colleague Brad Lander; Mattan Berner-Kadish, who grew up in my district; and at least 31 other American citizens helping Palestinian farmers try to harvest olives in the West Bank under the threat of violence. Meantime, vigilante settlers continue to terrorize Palestinians in the West Bank with scant consequences.
Last week, out-of-control settlers injured an American journalist. Now, the IDF targets volunteers for helping Palestinians harvest olives. The eyes of the world are on the West Bank.

Hola, soy palestino. 🇵🇸
1947. La ONU me ofreció un estado. Junto a Israel. Fronteras, independencia, reconocimiento.
Me dio autonomía.
¿Democracia? No he tenido elecciones en casi 20 años.
We demand that Mayor Zohran Mamdani fire NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and use every power available to him to drive ICE out of New York City.
We further demand the mayor abolish the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group (SRG) and Community Response Team (CRT).
ALT Statement continues: Socialist elected officials must lead this fight, not capitulate or waver in the face of political pressure or sacrifice the immigrant community for the sake of other reforms. DSA electeds must use their offices to confront institutions and use every lever under their control. They should not stand in opposition to those protesting to abolish ice but join their ranks as a leading figure, serving to mobilize working class people rather than retreat into political expediency while immigrant communities suffer the most. Our principles are not a set of aspirations to abandon when they become inconvenient; they are a mandate for action.
ALT Statement continues: We demand that Mayor Zohran Mamdani fire NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and use every power available to him to drive ICE out of New York City. The Mayor’s office must end New York City’s cooperation with federal immigration enforcement to the fullest extent possible and mobilize every resource at its disposal to protect immigrant New Yorkers from detention and deportation.
ALT Statement continues: We further demand the mayor abolish the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group (SRG) and Community Response Team (CRT), specialized units used to suppress dissent. A socialist administration cannot claim to stand with working class movements while maintaining police units that intimidate and repress them.

“I want to harm the jew just like the brothers in Australia Bondi Beach harmed the jews.”
That is not a manifesto from Gaza. That is Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, an 18-year-old Somali-American in Minnesota, in an FBI affidavit, explaining why he bought an AK-47 and 200 rounds of ammo for the Mall of America. Because he thought Jews owned it. Because he wanted 30 to 60 dead so no one would go there again. Because he had already pledged allegiance to ISIS.
Bondi was for him the inspiration. October 7 had given him the permission. He won’t, unfortunately, be the last.
OCTOBER 7, 2023: SHE KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO DIE.
Libi Cohen-Meguri, a 22-year-old infantry officer, went to the Nova music festival.
She was shot while fleeing the party. At 8:11 a.m., she called her parents and said:
“I’ve been shot in the stomach, I’ve been shot in the arm, I’m losing blood. I’m going to die.”
Calmly, quietly, she understood; these were the last minutes of her life.
She asked her parents to call Tomer, her twin brother, and Maya, her little sister, and said:
“I’m going to die. I just want you to listen to me.
I love you, Yariv. You’re the best father I could have asked for.
Mom, stop screaming. Just listen to me. You are the best mother we could have ever had. Don’t forget to be a good mother to Tomer and Maya after I die.
Tomer, how lucky we were to live this life together. I love you.
My Maya, never forget—you are the treasure of my life.”
When she finished speaking, her parents told her to get out of the car, lie down on the road, and pretend to be dead.
With her last bit of strength, she got out of the car and laid down on the road.
“Mom, they’re coming to shoot me again,” Libi said after lying down.
While her mother listened on the phone, shouts in Arabic could be heard, and then a barrage of gunfire.
It didn’t stop.
It kept going, until the call was disconnected.
And that’s how Libi died—with demonic beasts from the pit of hell standing over her and emptying a full magazine into her body.
Libi died with LOVE on her lips: love for life, love for her family, and love for her people.
Her memory will forever be a blessing.
NEVER FORGET.
NEVER FORGIVE.
NEVER AGAIN IS NOW.
Israel is hunting down every single Palestinian and Hamas terrorist who participated in the October 7th Massacre—to kill them all.
They’re living on “borrowed time,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
Sooner or later, every one of these monsters will be found and eliminated.
Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley:
“If you take 1,200 Israelis [massacred on Oct 7th] and apply it to the United States, that'd be 50,000-100,000 people dead in a morning! Can you imagine what we would do?"
