As someone with lived experience of residential care. I can categorically say it most definitely worked for me. Our house was a home. The staff looking after us loved us like we were their own. And they still do years after we’ve left
Please stop with this dangerous narrative!
If a child has suffered trauma & abuse how can we think a model that puts you in a house with another 4+ traumatised kids for the long term will help any of you heal?
Add on low paid, under skilled & unsupported staff = further abuse. Radical reform needed

What a load of tut
‘Why is it the work of @MarcusRashford that made that happen?’
‘It isn’t. I had extended free school meals to more groups of children at the beginning.’
Children’s Minister Vicky Ford says she had ‘already extended free school meals’ and it wasn’t down to Rashford’s campaign.
