McGill’s law school receives roughly 1,500 applications for just 180 spots. It gave one of those spots to a convicted murderer in his mid-60s, who will never pass the good character requirements to practice, and who violated his parole multiple times. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

Yes, I've also heard that Brad Bradford will sell off sunlight to corporate investors. We cannot let that happen

He also raised nearly $35,000 to help defend against this “politically-motivated” police investigation!
STORY, updates to come: Edmonton former journalist Duncan Kinney has admitted to spray painting a bust of Ukrainian World War II leader Roman Shukhevych with the words "actual Nazi," then writing about it, claiming he didn't know who did it. edmontonjournal.com/news/cri…

Classless. It goes without saying that few would tolerate pundits and lobbyists laughing about how “ugly” a female politician is.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Kory Teneycke isn't a fan of Jamil Jivani

Literally everything about euthanizing someone who resists at present, but consented in the past is hard. We shouldn’t pretend anything about this is straightforward. These are agonizing decisions, and we should acknowledge them as such
If my advance directive says "please give me MAiD when my dementia gets to the level that I'm a burden on my loved ones", them the answer is you give me MAiD, not respond to my delirious protests. If you don't know how to "interrogate delirium or confusion", you shouldn't be a doctor. There is NOTHING HARD about this scenario, except if you don't understand how brains work.

This is the right decision. Canada is already struggling with proper guardrails for and assessment of Track 2 cases. It would be incredibly irresponsible to open up a brand new track
When it comes to mental illness, serious concerns remain about whether MAID requests can be assessed safely and consistently. For that reason, Canada does not intend to move ahead with the scheduled expansion of MAID for mental illness.

It’s like I always say: when your spouse tries to kill you, you should reflect on what you did to make him angry
When your pilots are trying to kill you, maybe you need to wake up to how the world sees the crimes facilitated by your society? And actually ... do something?

This is called "victim blaming". Nora Loreto has frequently criticised victim blaming, including saying: "Victim blaming is shameful". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victim_bl… x.com/NoLore/status/…

David Eby is a shrewd, confident competitor. He will challenge anyone currently suffering from a stomach virus to a hot-dog-eating contest. He will dare any chess champion to a tournament when they are sleeping. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

Belleville's police chief says Const. Jeff Smith was shot before he could even exit his vehicle, and still got out to try to take down the synagogue shooter. What incredible bravery. The GoFundMe for his recovery: gofundme.com/f/const-jeff-sm…

This is a really great interview. It’s also amusing to hear an American speak knowledgeably about Canada. It’s like watching a cat play the piano
Had the pleasure of interviewing @mattyglesias for @TheHubCanada. He's an American that knows a disturbing amount about Canada. We discussed Trump’s conflict with our country and why the President might just be doing it for the "lol"s, why average Americans are not coming to Canada's aid, and why a Democratic President might keep the Cdn tariffs in place. We get into the rise of Mark Carney and the Liberals. He says Carney is running "what seems to be clearly the most successful centre-left political party in the world right now." Yglesias examines how the Liberals have gone from the party of historical reckonings to one that has claimed the mantle of Canadian patriotism. We also get into the struggles of the Democratic Party. Yglesias asserts left-wing parties need to embrace patriotism to win. Finally, we talk about the rapid rise of the Democratic Socialists of America (now the largest socialist organization in U.S. history). WATCH: youtu.be/ny3eqbpY50Y?si=W_Nf…
