I’m going to be a grumpy old man here and point out that nobody called it β€œM81” back then, and I don’t think it was ever official nomenclature. It was just β€œwoodland” or β€œBDU.”

My novel THE FAMILY BUSINESS features a military grade, genetically-enhanced working dog named Shadow as a supporting character. He is a good boy who likes to hunt collaborators. (He does not die in the book.) a.co/d/01RErmBj
JUST IN: Palmer Luckey's genetically modified military dog startup, Warhound, comes out of stealth, aiming to create enhanced canines for the U.S. military.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is NOT Palmer's company at all, his company Anduril is only supplying the tech for the dogs, and this is a wholly owed Collosal entiity x.com/palmerluckey/s…

The chief problem was trying to create a Western democracy in Afghanistan. Jim Gant outlined how it could have worked, but he was ignored. The other issue here is people thinking fighting is "a mistake" when there is no other choice, just because it didn't go the way they hoped.
People saying the Afghanistan War post 9/11 was a mistake actually boils my brain. You can say it went poorly, but going into Afghanistan was the only rational thing to do. If we hadn't gone after Al Qaeda, that would've been an insane abdication.

Okay nobody actually believes these robots actually work as claimed, do they? Also, any machine will defend you if you use it right. You can huck a toaster at an attacker.
China’s Unitree unveils a robotic bodyguard β€” a machine ready to die for its owner The H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian can protect its owner from a robber, lift a car trapping a person underneath, and even throw itself under the wheels to save its owner. The manual specifically asks users to treat it kindly.

Fellow Canadian here: I'd recommend not swinging by with your crew to try to rob me of my lawfully owned property. Even if there is no border involved.
