Tropical Storm Debby will likely weaken to a tropical depression by the time it moves over central North Carolina, but the primary threat locally will not be the wind, it will be the RAIN. A flood watch has been issued for several counties and it may be expanded later.

ALT The forecast track of Debby has it move off the Georgia/South Carolina coast Tuesday and remain nearly stationary for a day before moving north. It will then make another landfall over South Carolina Thursday, continue north over North Carolina Friday, and continue northeast over the Delmarva Peninsula Saturday.
Heavy rainfall and flooding are expected this week. Have a plan in place to ensure your safety!
The risk for flooding rains this week across central NC from #Debby is increasing. Take steps now to prepare for flooding before it happens! Visit weather.gov/floodsafety.
