🚨 Attention: Key updates on ESHRE guidelines! 🚨
One of the most important talks I attended was by Prof Rod Mitchell @RodTMitchell :
“ESHRE good practice recommendations on fertility preservation involving testicular tissue cryopreservation in children receiving gonadotoxic therapies.”
🧬 STUDY QUESTION:
How should fertility preservation be managed in child and adolescent males undergoing gonadotoxic treatments?
✅ SUMMARY ANSWER:
42 recommendations were developed to guide every step of fertility preservation in boys where traditional methods (like semen cryo or surgical sperm extraction) aren’t possible — from identifying candidates and counselling, to tissue biopsy and cryopreservation logistics.
This is a HUGE milestone for clinical practice and research.
