Nine total tornadoes were confirmed from Sunday, October 11, 2026 including two EF-2 and five EF-1 tornadoes. This ties for the most tornadoes to occur on a single day in the NWS Raleigh, NC forecast area (2011 & 1992).

🚨 0745 Sunday update: we are still seeing impacts from the remnants of Isaias across WNC. Going into today, we need to remain weather aware. Flood sirens are activated in the Chimney Rock area, many areas have seen flash flooding and rainfall ponding, and there have been some landslides overnight. Do not drive through flood waters.
Here is a view of the current flash flooding outside of Chimney Rock in Rutherford County.

Two years after Hurricane Helene, western North Carolina continues to rebuild.
Yesterday in Lansing, we announced $5 million in new grants to continue to strengthen the downtowns across the region that small businesses depend on. The progress is real, but much work remains. We’ll continue standing with western North Carolina as we rebuild for the long haul.

I am deeply appalled and angry to see “Firework” used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.
I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.
My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.

Today I learned rabbits can swim. Even better: their ears fold back into swim mode. I feel this information deserved to be shared
How many times people have to be told that wild animals are wild and they should keep a safe distance? These two were way too close.
