Every day I am in awe of international students. Doing a PhD in your native language and home country is hard. Doing it in a non-native language, in a different country and different culture is so much harder. You are not stupid. You are legends.
Thrilled to share that I passed my qualifying exam and became a PhD candidate! Eternally grateful to @DWWilliamsLab, lab-mates, faculty and student mentors, family and friends for supporting me on this journey. We did it! 💙 #LatinxinSTEM
I sincerely could not have achieved this without the support from my brilliant mentor and magnificent lab. Thank you so much for believing in me every step of the way. Absolutely love our lab! Looking forward to exciting things to come! 💙

Good morning y’all.
Ralph Yarl. A 16 year old Black baby boy was shot because he went to the wrong door (as he attempted to pick up his siblings). He was shot in the head and again as he bled out on the ground.
His shooter- a white man- is free.
So many things I can say but for now- just extreme sadness. Gratitude that he’s still alive. Also- I’m tired of this shit.
Black boys deserve to grow up.
Black men deserve to grow old.💔💔
New adventures! Presented my first in-person research poster at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Brain Barriers Conference 2023. 💙 Tremendously proud of witnessing @HannahNWilkins slay her poster! Thank you @DWWilliamsLab!
