Let's not forget that the filmmakers of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One keep saying 'We filmed all for real!'. Just look below at the Oscar's VFX reel. Full CGI shots in Rome, full CGI shots in the airport, so much CG, VFX, it's just mindblowing ๐คฏ. This film could have been presented as the perfect merging of practical and digital. They could have given credit to the VFX teams but no... it had to be presented as this 'bullshit' 'all real' nonsense. What a wasted opportunity! The amazing VFX teams working on this film deserved better!
