Pick and preview for tonight’s clash between the top 2 Jr lights in the game. I think the style clash and location could mean controversy by nights end. Live and free on The Corner Stool. Link in bio.

Kirk and Sulu being the last ones standing is sort of ironic.

Hey Smokin Joe, you won the biggest fight ever in arguably the best fight ever and they’ll make books and movies about it 60 years from now but darn it I can’t vote for you because you didn’t get that Terry Daniels fight in on time? 🤣

Nobody mentions that JMM beat Serhii Fedchenko in 2012

The idea anyone would need a set number of fights to be the fighter of a given year is silly thinking. Most guys win it for a particular fight anyways even with more activity. Like Holyfield wouldn’t have been FOTY 96 without Czyz?

Incorrect. It’s happened other times. Tunney, Schmeling, Sharkey, Ingo, Patterson, Frazier in 71…all won on single fight campaigns. Hagler shared his Ring award with Curry in 85 (was BWAA solo)
In the history of the Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year award,it’s only been given out “2 times” to fighters with only one fight in the calendar year. Marvelous Marvin Hagler with his 3rd round TKO win over Tommy Hearns, and Bud Crawford with his UD win over Canelo Álvarez.

Foster learned how to fight the old fashioned way. Took some early L’s, honed his craft, and when the moment arrived he was ready.

Fighter of the year has to edge towards Shock. What a year to date

In 10 months, O’Shaquie Foster has beaten Stephen Fulton, Raymond Ford and Emanuel Navarrete — all while some so-called stars and pound-for-pound talents haven’t fought at all or have been in the ring just once.

There hasn’t been an “undisputed” champ at 130 since Kobayashi in 1967. Hope Foster gets the Cacace-Ball winner .

Foster got fair cards from jump. Good to see.

8-4 Foster. My guy when this was announced gut was Shaq but I didn’t think he could get a decision in San Anton. Those two KDs might have made fate work for him.

Foster won that round for about 2:50 but that stagger at the end was consequential. Circle that one too

7-3. 20th to Nav but close frame. Both guys landed some nasty stuff

7-2. Could be a round closer (8 was swingish). Commentary is trying tot tell story too much and misses a lot of landed stuff tonight.

5-2 Foster. Lot can still happen but there’s something to be said for Nav’s awkwardness looking oafish when guys don’t just stay there for those weird salvos

Foster 4-2 but that late surge for Nav makes that (and round 2) the circle them as swing rounds frames so far

Excellent 4th for Foster. 2-2 here.

Good third round. Could be 2-1 either way. Second was close regardless of commentary
