Aussies end up with a lead of exactly 100. Perhaps a little less than we’d hoped but if we can get a few wickets while we’re still in front then it’s pretty handy. We can’t afford to make the same mistakes we did in the first session on day one. #savaus

Aussies go into day 3 leading by a single run, having not lost a wicket in the final session yesterday. Ingles and Carey have put on a 145 run partnership. The changes have worked. #savaus

I like the Pies’ draw. It’s been ranked 6th easiest. Some good double-ups in there. We play the Bulldogs on a Friday night for the 12th year in a row and the Blues on a Thursday night for the third year in a row. Bring it on. #afl #AFLFixture #gopies

Was it always the @AFL’s plan to release the 2027 fixture on 29 October instead of 12 November, was it brought forward at the request of clubs and fans, is it due to the AFLW season likely moving to an earlier window, or other reasons? Please vote and retweet! #afl #AFLFixture

I made a slight booboo. Pies have three Thursday night and three Friday night games in the first 16 rounds, not two and four. There was a mistake in the fixture in the notification from the AFL Live app. The fixture in the matches tab is correct. #afl #AFLFixture #gopies

2027 footy fixture is out. Only 30 minutes late so just a 15 minute lunchtime detention for you @AFL. @CollingwoodFC get two Thursday night and four Friday night games in the first 16 rounds. A 30 minute delay is a good trade off for an October release. #afl #AFLFixture #gopies

No footy fixture and no confirmed release time. 15 minute lunchtime detention for you @AFL. You’ve missed the midday deadline. Release the fixture now please or you’ll get a 25 minute afterschool. I don’t want to wait until 3pm. #afl #AFLFixture

Dear @AFL, if today’s fixture release does not take place by 12 midday (AEDT), you will get a 15 minute lunchtime detention. Postponing to tomorrow will result in a 25 minute afterschool. Anything after that will be a 60 minute afterschool. Hahaha. Just joking. #afl #AFLFixture

Ouch. Both set batsmen gone to poor shots and now the Aussies are in a little bit of trouble. Far from disastrous but we wouldn’t want another major collapse that leaves us with a significant first innings deficit. #savaus

100 run partnership up between Green and Renshaw. Aussies score 73 runs without loss in the first hour after lunch. Yes this pitch is a road but this has been a much better performance than Gqeberha. #savaus

50 for Green. Playing really well on return from an abdominal strain which sidelined him for 4 weeks. And soon after Renshaw also reaches 50. Great partnership here. #savaus

That’s how you use the DRS. To fix blatant howlers like that. Shocking decision by the standing umpire rightly overturned. #savaus

Aussies manage to avoid any more damage to lunch. Renshaw and Green are steadying the ship nicely after a double wicket over. Much more competitive effort than Gqeberha. #savaus

Marnus Labuschagne is cancelled.

Terrible shot by Head when the Aussies needed him to go on. That exposes a wretchedly out of form Labuschagne who should have been dropped a long time ago. And of course he goes for a duck. This is huge trouble now. #savaus

Aussies get through the first hour unscathed and have passed 50. Head and Renshaw are playing well. Much better start than Gqeberha. #savaus

Yikes. I ate waaay too much Thai food and now I think I’m going to explode. #pig #bloated #CantBreathe #BadIdea #ServesMeRight

Pies to undertake an external review into their AFLW program. Good. They should look to fast track it in order to avoid more disaster at the trade table in December. Things are moving. Took too long but at least it’s happening. #aflwomens #betterlatethannever #gopies

Had a wonderful time meeting @KateBartlett34 for breakfast this morning. We’ve been friends for more than 6 years and it was great to have the chance to meet for the first time. Thanks Kate. #ILoveMyFriends
