If you feel like geeking out on Iowa football defense, read this story: Never-told stories about Seth Wallace's career and what's kept him in Iowa City ... so far. hawkcentral.com/story/sports…

Here's the story I wrote on Quad Cities Salute to Sports Male Athlete of the Year Nolan DeLong. The Durant product is keeping his plate full this summer, participating in Hawkeye football workouts and playing baseball for the Wildcats: qctimes.com/sports/high-scho…

Annie Wirth is the second girl from Geneseo to win Quad Cities Salute to Sports female athlete of the year. Kendra Bos did so in 1996. Nolan DeLong is the second boy from Durant to capture the male athlete of the year award. Scott Jehle was the 1982 recipient.

Our fifth male athlete of the year finalist is Durant's Nolan DeLong (@NolanDelong) A six-sport athlete in a calendar year, the Iowa recruit finished his career with over 6,000 rushing yards and 68 scores. He was good in the other sports, too. Like really good #SalutetoSports23

Senior @NolanDelong cracked Durant baseballs Top 10 all time in stolen bases last night with SB #50/51. His next SB will tie him with ‘06 grad Ross Petersen who also went on to play football at Iowa

If Durant's Nolan DeLong plays baseball this summer, he'll end up being a six-sport varsity athlete this school year. Never seen that in all my years of doing this. Fall: Football Winter: Basketball, wrestling Spring: Track & field, golf Summer: Baseball Quite incredible.

Nolan DeLong's path to the state tournament is very unique. Besides juggling two sports (his first year of wrestling), the future Iowa football player is competing at heavyweight despite weighing 197 pounds. My piece on Durant's @NolanDelong: qctimes.com/sports/high-scho… #iahswr

Impressive. Future Hawkeye LB @NolanDelong leads Durant's basketball team with 20.0 ppg this season & now has also qualified for the state tournament in wrestling. That's all after a football season that saw him rack up 2,111 yards rushing & 21 TDs along with 66 tackles & 14 TFL.
