$651,928 given to The @Rotary Foundation is more than a number. It is a story of people who chose to give, serve and believe in something bigger.
@rckampalanorth is also a club known for turning service into lasting impact, with projects touching health, maternal care, water, education and communities far beyond its own backyard.
With 78 of 90+ members already Paul Harris Fellows, that culture of giving is extraordinary.
But I challenged them not to stop there. Bring in the young. Build stronger partnerships. Lift other clubs.
Then I left them with one question: What remarkable achievement will Kampala North be remembered for when we pull down the curtains of @rotaryd9213 in Gulu at @102DISCON

I am still taking it all in.
100,000+ people showed up for #CancerRunUg26, and together we raised an incredible UGX 5.62 billion (US$1.5 million) to fight cancer.
To every runner, walker, volunteer, Rotarian, partner, donor and supporter thank you for uniting for good.
This is what happens when Uganda comes together.
We ran for hope. We ran for lives.

Today, 30th August 2026, we joined the Masindi community for the #RotaryCancerRun2026, proudly partnering in the fight against cancer in Uganda.

Today, I met a team from Rotary organizing the Rotary Cancer Run 2026.
When I see young people in Rotary and Rotaract being groomed in leadership and nurtured to uphold the values of Rotary, I see hope for Africa’s future.
Health and leadership are key to achieving meaningful social and economic transformation. We must focus less on issues that do not address our challenges and more on the health and wellbeing of our people.
I commend Rotary for its efforts in the fight against cancer. Funds have been raised, a cancer ward has been built and commissioned, and the next step, the radiotherapy centre will require even greater support.
I therefore call upon everyone to support the Rotary Cancer Run on 30th August at 6:00 a.m. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
