Melle was concerned that he would have been a bit uneasy taking care of a child. It's hard especially if you aren't used to kids.

"I'm grateful that you helped. Even though I know Cecil wouldn't have given you much of a choice." Melle chuckled, staring fondly at Ryou.
It can be, depending on how you look at it. Isn't it a reward to be able to see your child or the child you're looking after be happy and smiling?
"I'm sure. He seems to already be fond of you. Theon wants to see Uncle Ryou again soon." Another kiss.
A kiss was placed on his forehead as he nuzzled into her hands.
"Different huh? It can be different, scary but also very rewarding looking after a child. I trust he behaved himself, yes?"
There was a small giggle from his wife as she continued to leave kisses, pausing as she just remembered something.
"Ah! Before I forget, how was looking after my little angel?" She asked, keeping her hands on his cheeks.
