Then again, Urashiki and Momoshiki energies felt similar. “Amazing! Such amazing power, Toneri! There’s no doubt you’ll be able to defend your moon now!”

The Princess’ arms folded underneath her chest. It seemed no matter where she went, some parent always was an asshole. Mother, father, sister, brother? The list was endless. “Is that so? You had deadbeat mother too, huh? Seems we got another thing in common. Your mother left you with a tyrant, as did mine, a space pirate.” Rainy‘s lips formed a grin. “Man, it’s like you, me, Okura, Kawaki and Selya were all destined to cross paths. We all had shitty parents, yet, we all defied the odds. If you ever do find your mother, I’d want to hear her explanation. Mine simply sold me off because I was in the way of her rule.”

“Lord Beerus is the God of Destruction of this universe. Whis is his angel. I know all about them from Frieza’s database. Why would there be a rumor of you being involved with any angel? This can get complicated Kawaki, think carefully.”

“Hm? Who’s that?” It was amazing that he was able to detect one of the gems. Even she didn’t have such capability and she was a Rubian.

“Holiday…music?” She posed with a raised brow. Another sip of her cappuccino, followed by a bite of her bear claw.

“Are you sure about that, pops?” Despite how they started out, Rainy was always looking out for Sleet in a way. All she sought out was his approval. It crushed her each time he overlooked her.

The young girl never ignored a gut feeling and something was off here. “I’m telling you. . .something’s off. I know you like her pops, but you’d do best to watch your back around her. I know you’re probably thinking it’s because we don’t get along, but that’s not it. I just — don’t trust her.”

“That’s totally understandable. I think I would give her a chance to get a break too, but that’s fine.” Her lips formed a genuine smile. Something that he had probably not seen in many years from Rainy. “Yes. I’m very happy, Kawaki. I honestly think this could really turn into something.”

“But — ” She wouldn’t speak any further, they knew not of her capabilities. This wasn’t her mission anyway. She had only met them by chance. Why bother to interfere and get involved in their lives? She wasn’t even supposed to be here. Rainy followed Toneri and Momoshiki into the next fruit. It would not be long before they discovered the next divine tree. “Well, you’re up, Toneri.”

“No no, thank YOU.” She gave him a wide smile, then parted from the hug. “So, about how far from here are one of the gems?”

“Hm? Rumors? Since when are you meeting an angel? I thought this was only under a certain circumstance. Are you somehow involved with Lord Beerus?” — one of her brows rose up. Rainy was now curious to know if Kawaki was working close with the god of destruction.

She avoided eye contact during this time. A small sigh escaped her lips. “It’s — a long story. Lord Frieza used to be someone I worked for, but that’s long over. Now I’m on my own. I’m curious as to what this Christmas is about.” Her head tilted back up to meet his gaze as she took another sip of her cappuccino

The princess nodded. She was almost as in awe as Okura. She had never before visited the elder, but she had always heard rumors that he lived in a beautiful place like this. Rainy descended downward from the sky and landed upon the soft cobblestone below. Cherry blossoms surrounded them everywhere they walked. Rainy looked around for a bit until she pointed to the right. “This way, Okura. Hopefully the elder can give us an insight into what we are seeking. If he doesn’t know, then there really is no way.”

“Why would Eida lose it? I thought she’d want a break just as much as you? I can even bring dinner for the four of us. It’ll be like a double date.”

She nodded her head, keeping that very same smile on her features. “I’m very aware of that, but you’re my best friend,!Kawaki. I’d really like for you to meet him. It would mean a lot to me. I’ve also told him about you and he’s interested in meeting you.”
