My biggest hope is as clinicians, you will incorporate the “Explain-Name-Validate” framework into your interactions with patients and their families and teach it to your colleagues and students. onlinejcf.com/article/S1071-…

Jack Howard, Nick Nudell, and Alex Olaussen gave a great talk on CPR-Induced Consciousness (video will be on @FL_NAEMSP YouTube shortly). The slide below describes their recommended treatment for CPRIC and it's broken down to "Interfering" and "Non-interfering." ➡ Interfering: 0.5 - 1 mg/kg IV/IO ➡ Non-interfering: 0.3 mg/kg IV/IO They call for CPRIC data elements to be added to @CARESRegistry and @NEMSISTAC.
People have asked me "why do we need a protocol for CPR Induced Consciousness?" It's because 99% of people will stop CPR when the patient moves, and fail to resume in a timely manner. See if for yourself here (published in @ResusJournal) resuscitationjournal.com/cms… This 42 year old man arrested on the tennis court and was in V-fib. He moved with CPR and the subsequent BLS care was rocky at best. Join us today at 11AM EST to hear about CPR-Induced Consciousness (CPRIC) from the leading world experts and authors of a recent publication discussing CPRIC protocols for EMS.
