🚨 People Over Data Centers Rally 🚨 Lansing has been too slow in dealing with Data Centers. A year ago few people had heard of Data Centers or knew about their impacts, yet now, Michiganders are being blindsided by massive, rapidly developing projects. Lyon Township: A massive Data Center was approved months before residents even knew about it. Saline: Big tech sued the township into submission, forcing their hyperscale Data Center Governor Whitmer caught on a hot mic prioritizing the will of big tech companies over Michigan residents. To fight against this, I introduced SBs 1018-1020 to put a one year pause on all Data Center projects in Michigan. My bills force caution and prioritize people —not the rubber stamp approach that Gov. Whitmer and SoS Benson are imposing on Michigan. The ask is simple: let’s pause these potentially dangerous projects and learn more about them before we blindly approve them. That is why I am hosting a “People Over Data Centers” rally on Tuesday June 23rd at 5:30pm on the east steps of the Capitol in Lansing. This rally is not a condemnation of Data Centers, but urges caution to ensure that they're done right.
