You see that dip in global life expectancy in the 1950s?
That was caused by one man, Mao Zedong.
Mbappe should have apologised only for not being ruder about him.

Ya'll, this is nuts.
Hundreds - that's right, HUNDREDS - of armed robberies between 2022 and 2024 weren't real.
They were staged by the "victims" as part of a massive immigration fraud scheme to secure U-visas for themselves and their families.

Barack Obama was horrible in a million different ways, but he doesn’t get anywhere near the hate he deserves for destroying the used car market for an entire generation.
15-year-old cars with 150,000 miles that should be selling for $3,000 are going for $15,000. It’s abominable. Pure destruction and thievery.

The Iranian economy is in shambles, the country has Great Depression levels of unemployment, inflation is over 100%, oil exports and revenue have dropped to $0, the Iranian Rial has collapsed over 60% of its value vs the Dollar since March, almost its entire navy has been sunk, virtually the entire upper echelons of the government were decapitated in the opening salvo of the war, and there now appears to be a growing rebellion against the central government in Balochistan.
In what universe does this put Iran in a stronger strategic position now than in January?

The American Dream doesn’t belong to Wall Street. It belongs to the American people.
Thanks to President Trump and Scott Bessent, families don’t have to worry about getting out-bid on their dream homes by private equity barons. And we’re making those same big investors give financial support to families buying their first homes.

Taiwan’s government networks are being attacked 2.6 million times a day. Six weeks before a national election, its intelligence chief just named Beijing’s playbook.
Taiwan’s National Security Bureau told lawmakers that Chinese-linked cyberattacks on government systems averaged 2.58 million per day in the first nine months of 2026. July alone hit 185.6 million detected attempts, more than the entire first quarter. The NSB says it can’t rule out that the surge was groundwork for interfering in the November 28 local elections.
Disinformation is climbing too. Suspicious accounts pushed more than 2.5 million false or disputed posts from January to September, up about 48% from last year. The themes: energy, food safety, national defense, and individual candidates. Most of it ran on Facebook, boosted by content farms, AI-generated video and audio, and coordinated comment flooding.
NSB Director-General Tsai Ming-yen outlined six tactics Beijing is using to “precisely interfere”:
1. Illegal financial support for chosen candidates or groups
2. Low-cost trips to China for targeted supporters
3. Discounted flights so Taiwanese in China can come home to vote
4. Disinformation, including AI-generated content
5. Illegal underground betting markets
6. Cyberattacks to steal election intelligence
The bureau says it is monitoring nearly 100 suspected cases and aims to refer them to prosecutors before voters go to the polls.
Taiwan has seen this before and mostly held up. But the tools are getting faster, cheaper, and harder to trace.

Who decided that "Christian" entertainment had to be safe, grandmother approved, Hallmark channel slop?
The stories from the bible are raw, dangerous and violent. Mel Gibson is the only filmmaker with any huevos rancheros.
Replying to @MattWalshBlog
I understand why the genre might not be someone’s cup of tea. I don’t particularly gravitate to it myself, usually. But it’s okay for Christians to tell and enjoy stories that are tense, suspenseful, even scary. There’s nothing inherently sinful about any of those feelings. And the categorical insistence on avoiding those feelings is precisely why almost all “faith based” entertainment is terrible. I would argue that bland, bad, boring “Christian entertainment” — which is almost all of it, truly — is a far greater cultural problem for Christians than any horror movie ever could be. Christians used to be the great storytellers of western civilization. That was back when they told difficult, complicated, sometimes bleak and violent stories. Not anymore. Now the stories are all very nice and pleasant, but they also suck and nobody with any taste can stand to watch them.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Russian-backed attacks against Germany’s Leipzig-Halle Airport weeks ago was the beginning of a wider upscaled campaign of both hybrid and direct attacks against NATO and EU nations ordered directly by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Per the report, which cites European intelligence officials, the Lewis becoming increasingly dissatisfied with lacking efforts on the ground and U.S.-brokered negotiations with Ukraine that have yet to merit the outcome President Putin wants.

Like many of the nations in Europe, France has a law enforcement entity we do not have in the USA. In Italy they call it the Carabinieri, in France it is the Gendarmerie Nationale.
They are ~a branch of the French armed forces with the mandate to ensure law and order by enforcing civil law with territorial units, mobile anti-riot units, etc.
The French have over 100,000. Adjusted for population, that would be as if the federal government had 500,000 uniformed and militarized police.
For reference, there are only ~325,000 Army National Guard members in the USA, and only a percentage of them are trained for security operations like we see in DC today.
Where are the French Gendarmerie in Paris, Limoges, Marseilles? For that matter, where is the Italian Carabinieri in Milan where the French condition is spreading?
The answer is: ordered to remain in their barracks because the governments refuse to do their baseline mission: protect the people from disorder.

My lifelong support for draconian gun control laws was weakened during the 2020 riots when, watching helicopter footage of mobs roaming freely through Philly neighborhoods and attempting to enter homes, a journalist reported that homeowners had told him that when they called police begging for protection they were told that law enforcement personnel were overwhelmed and homeowners were "on their own."
