In the Senate I asked a simple question: did anyone bother to check with ASIO or the Federal Police before handing over that cash? Did the minister or his department even do a Google search or look at the Facebook pages of these organisations before giving them taxpayer money? The minister wouldn’t give a straight answer. One Nation did a simple google search and found dozens of extreme Islamic hatred posts from the organisation. Australians deserve to know whether this government is doing even the most basic checks before it funnels hundreds of millions of dollars into multicultural groups and risks funding terrorism. Obviously, this government doesn't care. They're more interested in bribing radical Islamists with taxpayer money.

ANOTHER FIERY DEBATE IN AUSTRALIAN POLITICS! Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe has reportedly sparked fresh controversy after allegedly using highly insulting language toward One Nation senators and their supporters, reportedly describing them as “racists” and “the filth of this country.” But the bigger question goes beyond one political statement: In a democracy, is it acceptable to attack millions of voters simply because they support a different political party? Australians can vote Labor, Liberal, One Nation, or any other party they choose. Political disagreement is a normal and essential part of democracy. If politicians genuinely believe in tolerance and respect, shouldn’t those principles also apply to people whose political views are completely different from their own? Political disagreement is part of democracy—but where should we draw the line between strong criticism and outright abuse?

Labor built Australia’s super system, and we’ll always defend it. The Liberals, Nationals and One Nation don't support super because they don't support workers. It's that simple.
