Some activities are riskier than others when it comes to the danger of drowning. In order to be safe around water we recommend not mixing alcohol and water and always wearing a lifejacket when boating. You can read the full National Drowning Report here: buff.ly/2ZOnfCP
The Royal Life Saving National Drowning Report shows that 248 drowning deaths occurred in Australia from 2019-20. In WA drowning increased by 14% meaning 33 people lost their lives. People were also 3.8 times more likely to drown in regional WA. Read more: buff.ly/2ZOnfCP

This might be my favourite part from our chat with @persie_official. The advice he gave to his 13 yr old son to take control - and the reaction he got! Relevant to all of us.

Here is the thing to understand about flattening the curve. It only works if we take necessary measures before they seem necessary. And if it works, people will think we over-reacted. We have to be willing to look like we over-reacted.

A brief thread about what might be coming up in Australia to control #COVID19. I'll emphasise that what interventions are likely to work depend very much on the situation at the time, and not all are being considered in the near future, or even at all.
