Honored to join @NFBVirginia for its convention. I’m grateful to the advocates who show up every session to speak to me & who continue fighting for accessibility, independence, and equal opportunity for blind & visually impaired Virginians.
Thank you @AmericanU for inviting me to discuss data centers. I welcome answering questions, sharing my perspective, and engaging in a spirited debate about the impacts of this industry on our communities. The people deserve this kind of debate from elected officials who care.
I’m honored to receive the @VirginiaLCV Legislative Leadership Award. Protecting Oak Hill, preserving farmland, or fighting reckless development, my goal is the same: protect what we have & leave Virginia’s land, water, and natural resources better for the next generation.
Last night, I had the privilege to speak with students at a LVHS PTSA meeting. These students are so impressive w/ their engagement, thoughtful questions, & interest in decisions that shape their future. Keep asking questions & having thoughtful debate! We need more of that today
Honored to be named Chair of the Commission on Women’s Health. This commission tackles consequential health issues for women across the Commonwealth, and I look forward to continuing to improve outcomes and access to care for women across Virginia.
ICYMI yesterday SCC staff recommended the NextEra-Dominion merger be denied, reaffirming what so many of us have known all along: this is a bad deal for Virginia families and ratepayers across the Commonwealth.
Proud to step in to chair the State Water Commission today. Our communities depend on clean, reliable water. Today, we discussed microplastic & ship pollution, highlighting just some of the challenges facing our waterways.

Today I spoke at the March for a Moratorium in Leesburg calling for a statewide pause on new data centers.
I've introduced a bill for the 2027 session to make it happen. Call your legislators and tell them to vote YES to protect our electric bills, water, homes & open spaces.
I was honored to tour View of Heaven Farm and see the incredible work they’re doing to provide meaningful jobs for individuals with disabilities and fresh food for food banks. When more families are facing food insecurity, their work makes a real difference in service to others.
Tonight, I was honored to speak at Fauquier County’s annual Domestic Violence Vigil in Warrenton. We came together to honor survivors, remember lives lost, and recognize the ongoing need for prevention, support services, and protections for those experiencing domestic violence.
For too long, data center development has gone unchecked in Virginia.
My statewide MORATORIUM bill would pause ALL new data center approvals until we get real protections.

Join me this Friday evening in Leesburg for a candlelight vigil for #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth.
TONIGHT: The SCC is holding a public hearing in Fairfax on the proposed NextEra-Dominion merger.
This $67 billion corporate power grab will leave Virginia ratepayers paying the price. We need to stop this merger & the SCC needs to hear from you.
Arrive by 5:45 PM to speak.
Yesterday, I joined colleagues from across Virginia united against the largest utility merger in the history of the world.
Virginia does not exist to swallow massive transmission lines, bail out bad corporate math & foot the bill for unchecked data center growth.
Yesterday, I joined my colleagues in the original Senate Chamber in Williamsburg to mark 250 years of the Virginia Senate. Its first convening established the bicameral legislature at the heart of Virginia’s government today, a tradition I’m proud to carry forward.
As a former prosecutor, I saw firsthand how gaps in behavioral health care in VA jails can put inmates & communities at risk.
Yesterday, the Behavioral Health Commission discussed standards for screening, treatment, discharge planning, & suicide monitoring.
Been a productive two days w/ fellow lawmakers & @Hunt_Institute talking education issues. Some highlights for me: expanding Pre-K, access to education in our prisons & reducing recidivism & what effective policy around kids’ social media & tech use actually looks like. #VALeg
